Today is my parents’ wedding anniversary! I need to call my sisters to remind them.

I have been wearing lots of shorts – mostly gauzy! I have pink, turquoise, and orange.

Here I am with my Old Navy gauzy camp button up. I have these in white, black, and hot pink. I am a gauzy girl. I bought those last summer.

Another day, another gauzy outfit. This time I am wearing my Old Navy tropical linen shorts from last year.

For girls night out dinner I wore my salmon dress. I have it in hot pink, too. I mean, could I wear anymore orange or pink? Puppy likes to steal towels from the basket and he was roaming around while I took this photo.

My second Aerie order took a sweet forever to get to me. Are we spoiled by the speed of Amazon? Definitely! My first order included drawstring jeans, blue detailed sweatshirt, and Maine lobster sweatshirt. I returned lobster and jeans in store. After thinking about it I wanted the lobster so I re-ordered in size down. Then, I happened to see this graphic tee while online:

It’s so cute and I think I can wear it with my blue and red striped skirt.

Lobster! It’s quite flowy at the bottom with slits in both sides.

And, I am keeping the size down blue sweatshirt. I also ordered it two sizes down and that was not the fit I wanted.

So, last Friday I showed my friend Beth the ropes of my two fave consignment shops. Here is what I came home with:

I had been wanting a shirt dress and found this Old Navy version for $9.99!

It’s hard to see but I found this light blue and white striped short sleeve button up for $9.99, too. I think I will need a white cami under it which could defeat the purpose of it being a shirt to wear in the heat!

And, at the other store, I walked out with white Chico’s pants, black Chico’s pants, and Anthropologie pants. The Chico’s pants were brand new with tags so they were $15 and $20 but the Anthro pants were only $6! I will show you those when I am not too hot to put on pants.

And, look at this proof of a great deal. The first black blouse she is wearing is new with tags and the original price was $130!

and two dresses – one is a Lily lookalike and the other is J.Crew

She really scored and it made me so happy! I was an enabler, yes. But, some might say I was a helper. There’s a fine line.

  1. You both found some great new items. I love all the gauzy looks. I definitely think we’ve gotten spoiled with deliveries; I can remember catalog orders taking over a month to reach us when I was a kid. Now I’m kind of mifffed if it takes longer than a week. My last Old Navy order still hasn’t arrived… but I think it’s lost in the mail as it used to have a delivery date (which was last week!) and now it just says “it’s on its way” (and has for more than 5 days now).

  2. I’ve been waiting for a while on some orders and see they are all arriving on Monday. I think we are all spoiled by Amazon but then I think, if Amazon can do it why not the rest! Lol

    First, you have the BEST hair EVER!

    Aerie/American Eagle has the worst shipping ever! I tried shipping to the store instead of to my home…..2 weeks later it got to the store. It is horrible, and I think your right we are spoiled by Amazon. When I tracked it after I made the order it said the label was made on a Thursday USPS did not get the package until Wednesday! Really?!

      They really do. It took a week and a day!

  8. The black blouse is a great style, the hem is flattering on anyone. I don’t do shorts because I’m no longer a hot chick, so I found cotton capris a cool alternative.

  9. I love all your summer gauzy outfits! The brighter the colors, the happier it makes my heart. I’m going to Old Navy today to search for some tees…since I have the Amazon short sets now, I can switch things up and wear tees with the shorts sometimes when I want to be more casual. I love, love, LOVE that blue and white stripe short dress! I am going to see what I can find today at ON…I’ll probably text you pics from the dressing room, so have your phone handy. 🤣

  11. I think your friend might have edged you out just by the NWT purchases she made. But, the true winner is in who likes what they got the most! I tell you, Amy, if I had legs as good as yours, I’d wear shorts all the time. I haven’t even gotten my gauze shorts out this year. I’ve been hibernating inside! Love the striped dress. I had it and donated it because it just didn’t feel like me. I have been really working on not buying things that don’t feel like me. Have a wonderful Fourth!

    1. She did for sure! You are so kind. I look at photos of my old unfreckled legs and I don’t see it now. Lol. In your defense, it’s been either rainy or too humid.
      It’s a little too voluminous at the bottom but since the chest fits I am happy! You too!
