I purchased myself a “summer” gift! I bought a swatch watch! I still like wearing a watch and only have a brown leather banded one that looks too fall/winter. I feel like this can keep me from looking at my phone for the time!

I went to a tent sale at a local boutique and bought this blouse, too.

I also bought this Amazon hat for the sun. I only had a fedora and a more cowgirl looking hat so I wanted something like this and had seen it on a few bloggers.
Now on to what I have been wearing. It’s definitely more casual this week!
I love my biker shorts and have three pairs of black ones. One pair is my favorite from J.Crew Factory and one is a bit shorter. One is ok but sags a bit.

Shopping outfit. I love these linen shorts from Old Navy (older) and here is the Aerie button up I can’t stop wearing.

One of my gauzy shorts. I have pink, orange, and turquoise. They are super comfy.

Pool day – I only have one coverup right now. I think I will wear a button up as a coverup, though.

This doesn’t work because the pants are wide leg and the shirt is oversized. I had to put something on to run a quick errand and it was a cooler day.

My friend Beth invited me to lunch to celebrate my retirement and I wore my new pink dress. I have the same dress in salmon. I used my consignment straw clutch and wore my Aerosoles cork camera sandals.

It’s harder to remember to take outfit pics in the summer as it was part of my get out the door routine for school.
What have you been buying or wearing?
Isn’t it great that by the time you actually need summer things they are on sale? I am trying not to Amazon clothes shop, online clothes shop much, or shop for entertainment. I like to swing by my consignment shops every couple of weeks and just see what there is to see.
I am also doing another closet clean out. Anything that seems too “teachery” is going. That may be rash. I don’t know.
If you are retired, how did your style change?

I like the white button up with the light colored pants- BUT you know I am a neutral loving kind of gal (and NOT a fashionista or fashion blogger, LOL!) That isn’t to say I don’t have or wear colorful or printed designs but my eyes and heart are drawn to the neutral and simple :). I can see how you’re ready to “shed” your teacher clothes. For me, I’m not retired but don’t work full time. I’d consider my sub wardrobe to be business casual which is also appropriate for church so I tend to wear the same clothes to both of those places.

Thank you! It’s not the most flattering, but with a few tweaks I think it could be better. It’s very coastal grandmother. I am leaning toward the simpler. That makes sense for how you use your business casual. I think by wanting to shed my teacher clothes I am trying to reconcile with my new stage in life? But, I might sub or work at my school eventually. So, I don’t know.

Thank you! I think a front tuck and a bit of a wedge or heel would make it look more flattering?

Loving the relaxed vibe of your outfits! The new blouse you bought at the tent sale is so cute – love the print.
I think the wide leg pants and button up just need a little front tuck and it would look great! Your pink dress and cork shoes made such a pretty outfit for your celebration lunch!
Although I’m not retired since I work from home, my wardrobe has become more relaxed. I will not live in yoga pants and tees but I am more willing to spend a little more and get decent casual things. I like to get dressed every day because I enjoy it and when you can wear what you want it’s a lot more fun!

Since I retired I have been wearing leggings thru the week since I don’t go anywhere but clean and cook, just don’t won’t my good clothes to get messed up. On Saturday I usually wear jeans when my daughter and I go shop ping and on Sunday back to leggings. I still haven’t gotten rid of a lot of my work clothes because I am not sure what/when something is going to happen and I might have to go back to work.
I love your posts and look forward to reading them each day. Keep up the great work. Enjoy your retirement.

I have found that I get dressed to go run an errand but then immediately change out of the clothes into my “home clothes” usually a tank and shorts.
That is probably smart not to throw them out! I am trying to kind of make outfits for the activities I see myself doing.
Thank you so much!

I love all the looks! Do you shop at Old Navy in person? I don’t love the biker shorts I bought, but I keep thinking I’d like more shorts. I don’t have a lot of t-shirts either, though, so what do I wear with them? I love the white button down…meanwhile, I bought more dresses yesterday. They’ll be here next week! I may just continue to wear those out of necessity!
I don’t know what I’m wearing to the concert Saturday night yet, but there’s a good chance of rain…I definitely need a poncho, and will be getting one tomorrow before I forget. I’m sure I’ll end up in a dress since it’s an outside event.

I love the pink dress and the gauzy shorts! I also like the monochrome outfit. I am not retired by any means, but I do have a mix of work from home and in the office days, so the clothing is very different. I group my clothes together by outfits in my closet so it helps me pick out my clothes each day. Have a good one!

HI!
I have a closet full of cute “going out” clothes, that I struggle with because when I am running to the grocery store and tan, why would I wear them and wear gym shorts and tee’s and tanks. I don’t see getting all ready to do those stupid errands, and then come home walk the dog, clean and sweat? You know?
And, I did notice something you might not have noticed you are smiling BIG in all your pictures you look great! As soon as the pressure was off of me, I smiled ALOT more!
Cheers!

Yeah I get that but Fiona Ferris says to look at errands in a different way and to dress! Lol!
Maybe I will fall in the middle.
I didn’t notice that!
I already look happier? lol!
Thank you!

I did a closet clean-out a month ago. Anything I hadn’t worn for work since Sutton was born was gone. Most of my work stuff was pretty casual (cotton dresses) so I kept all that but I had a lot of long-sleeve and blouses I haven’t worn in 3+ years.
I just bought a visor because I’m sick of baseball caps messing up my hair.

Oh, that new red/coral shirt is so cute! I would even wear it with those striped shorts! You are such a bad influence on me…I see a graphic tee and talk myself out of it. Then, I see you wearing it, and a lot of times it ends up in my closet! Honestly, instead of thinking of your clothes as teacher-y, consider whether or not you like them (spark joy and all that), then decide if you want to get rid of them. Or, give them a vacation and pack them away for a bit then re-evaluate.
I really like the wide over wide look…maybe wear the shirt open with a tank tucked into the pants?

Thank you! Sorry I’m an enabler!
I love the tank idea! And that is a good idea about packing some away for
decisions later.
I need to lose weight so that is also clouding some decisions.
