I don’t feel like I have been super fashionable for school lately, y’all. My classroom is no longer cold, but now it’s muggy and my hair is flat after about an hour and I can’t seem to be dressed for the right temperature. Lol. Oh well. I am linking up with Kellyann and Jill to share my real life outfits – that’s for sure!
I really did love this outfit but it wasn’t for school…

This was a happy hour ‘fit! I am wearing my new Dr. Scholl’s buckle heels, my light Halaras and then two consignment items – the magenta blouse and the scarfy kimono are both from consignment stores. A teenager that I don’t know at the shopping center where my happy hour was complimented my outfit, too.
Sunday was rainy and I forgot a cardinal rule – no wide leg flares on rainy days. My hems were soaked! I have on my Aerie button up and my JCPenney Soho baseball cap.

We are having a weird teacher only spirit week this week for teacher appreciation week and Monday was dress for retirement day but it was also Cinco de Mayo. I wore leggings that made me hot and my Mexican inspired kimono. I didn’t know what to do!

Tuesday was decades day but I didn’t get it so I just wore what I wanted. I have on my $5 Chico’s white gauzy skirt, my Old Navy beachy graphic tee, and my Aerie oversized gauzy pink button up. Whatever.

I have on my new Dr. Scholl’s sneakers in the above photo and in the Sunday rainy day photo. They are not real leather and I think that makes them more pliable and more comfortable. I am super happy with them.
I know Derby has come and gone but I want to show you how pretty my friends look. Heather got to go to “Thurby” which is the Thursday before Derby. She is on the left and I got to help her shop last week.

And, then both of my Heathers got to go to the famous Barnstable Brown party and rub elbows with all kinds of famous people.

I was doing very non-Derby things like teaching and cleaning out my mom’s house.
I love this photo of my sisters and I in Europe. We took a month long Europe trip when I was 24, Kate was 21, and Molly was 16 almost 17. My Dad stayed for only 2 weeks of the trip.

It’s so funny because I think some of the styles we wore are back! The year was 1996 I think.
What is your favorite outfit of mine?
What have you been wearing?
Amy
I love your happy hour outfit! You reminded me I wanted to order a pair of Dr. Scholls sneakers when I got home from our trip and forgot. So I just put those in my cart. I’m also on halaras website and I’m torn– I typically wear a 10/12 but they come 8/10 or 12/14… thoughts?

I ordered large halara so I would say you could do small or medium. I can also wear xl but the l fit better so I would say you could even size down since they are pull on elastic waist.

Okay, thank you! That was my gut feeling but I just wasn’t sure.

So true about styles coming back in! Alyssa and I were going through old photos of mine and she saw some of me from high school. She remarked that one of my outfits with the shoes I was wearing in the photo is stylish now. I guess there are a finite number of jean rise/length/wash/tattered or no/ combos out there so styles will cycle in and out. Cute photo of you and your sisters! Have a great day!

What a cool pic of the 3 of you and a great trip! I love that your dad was there part of the time and you all had a few weeks alone – what an experience. I think you’re right – the styles are on trend now!
Isn’t it nice when a young person compliments your outfit? Love it!

I always love your outfits, but that first one is my favorite! I love that you and your sisters went to Europe together. How fun! I laughed at the brown sandals, because I wore the same ones that year. Your hair was great! It still is, but you know what I mean. It wasn’t cringe-y at all. Compliments from young people are THE BEST! You know you’ve done it right when they say something. Ha!

We’ve had a lot of rain and I sure have gotten hems wet on some of those days, not thinking about wearing wide legs in rain. It’s fun to see the pictures of you way back. I hope my kids realize how unusual it is to have been to all the different countries they have been to.

For teacher appreciation week they should give teachers a break and not have teachers dressing up for Spirit week. 🤣 That is such a cute picture of you and your sisters ❤️

Right? Why is that fun for us?
Today we can stay after school for ice cream. How about we can leave early and eat our own ice cream without our bra on.

I’ve never heard of teachers dressing up for Teacher Appreciation Day! That’s a bit different. Loved the first outfit! But, your friends look gorgeous in their Thurby and Barnstable Brown outfits. What a wonderful month that must have been!

I love that Sunday outfit, but you are right about the rain and the hem getting wet. We are having a staff spirit week this week, too, and I am not loving it. I’m participating but without my normal enthusiasm. Oh well. I am excited to see what your retirement wardrobe choices are next fall when you are actually retired. Have a great Friday!

I am new to your blog and had fun looking at your outfits – and I think I liked the look you had for happy hour (loved the jeans….) but also liked the put together one for decades day – the white skirt, t, and pink jacket had a summer softness

Thank you! Sorry my photos are so bad. I think that was my favorite outfit, too. I was shocked by how much I would like wide legs.

the photos were just fine – and let us feel the different outfits
and if I wear pants that are too wide at the bottom – I have sometimes tripped over them – and that is not good
