It’s Thursday which means that it’s Fashion Files day with Kellyann and Jill.

My favorite thing to wear right now is Halara flare jeans and blouses. Still!

So, we are going to be a bit out of order, but here goes…

Saturday night in my hometown I wore my lighter Halara jeans (my fave right now) with this tropical blouse I bought maybe 3-4 years ago at TJ Maxx.

I was able to wear these and they are actually quite comfortable! I think they look good with flare jeans.

For school Monday I wore my older Dillard’s Westbound jeans, my J.Crew clearance $12 blouse from a few years ago and my J.Crew consignment cardigan. This is an easy Monday combo that I can throw on. Yes, the sneakers ruined it. Oh well. We can wear whatever we want to my school. We have no dress code. Many teachers wear jeans everyday. A lot of them wear them with our school logo shirts and sweatshirts so even though I am in jeans, my top half is usually more “dressed up” than many.

Tuesday I wore my blue gauzy pants and I let the dogs out in gold Birks. These are not that comfortable to teach in. Maybe they aren’t fully broken in? I have had them for several years, though! I wore an old blouse that is kind of scratchy and might need to go bye bye and my Old Navy cardigan.

After school Tuesday, my replacement Aerosoles arrived. They are surprisingly comfortable, but the straps are a little loose for the top one and fine for the second one. I will have to try them on at different times of day. Does anyone know if they stretch out? That might not be good.

I love the look of cork!

Look at these that showed up in my Facebook feed! Should I exchange again for these? Lol!

I found a new IG follow – a style guru named Susie Wright. She was talking about the need for neutral shoes and how black shoes can ruin an outfit. She showed maybe 5 outfits where she switched black to neutral. It’s shocking! So, you can see that I need more neutral shoes!

Want to see something funny from my mom’s house? This is my bestie and roommate Heather and I at college orientation. She is on the left with the impressive bangs. Oh to have those unfreckled un-sun damaged legs back.

I only had two days last week but I broke out my new dress for one of them. I bought this back in February. I bought this one and the one I wore to Erica’s bday dinner around the same time. They are both from Tunie’s outlet.

Tanya influenced me to buy this under $10 Amazon sweatshirt and I wore it the other school day last week.

School selfie with readers:

What have you been wearing? I am trying to be content now and not shop. Famous last words, no? But, when I am super busy like I am now I just really don’t have time to shop. I did realize I needed some jockey shorts to wear under dresses. I think I donated my two pairs in the last donation drop off. Oops. So, Amazon to the rescue.

  1. I got to wear flip flops one afternoon this week and was thrilled! It’s looking like today might be warm and sunny too so hopefully I can pull on a nice blouse with a pair of jeans and leave those sweaters on the shelf.

  2. I ordered those Aerosoles yesterday – the one you pictured they are 30% off! I am so excited. My Camera Aerosoles aren’t cork but they haven’t stretched. Love the cork!

I hear you about the unfreckled legs of our youth. I look at my legs now and hardly recognize them! What the heck.

Your readers look so good on you!

    xo,

  3. That is interesting that you can wear whatever you want to school. I guess I’m an old fuddy duddy but I like the idea that professionals look professional? I like how our school does it where two days a week, staff can wear jeans. The other days are business casual. I like your outfits and I love the shoes you are thinking about getting. So cute!

  4. Thanks for the IG rec in Susie Wright; I immediately went and followed her. I’ve been saying that for three years about black shoes, but I’ve never heard anyone else say it. I quit wearing black shoes a few years ago when I started hating what they did to my legs in outfits; I’m a huge fan of the neutral sandal/shoe now, and I wear them every single day! I love that last dress and am excited about wearing one today. I’m sharing this week’s outfits in my Favorites post tomorrow, but I can’t get enough of the wide legged pants right now. They’re cute and so comfy, and I feel like they’re flattering on me.

Happy Friday to you, right? No school tomorrow??

  5. Those readers look good on you!! I am trying not to buy anymore clothes either and trying to wear each item in my closet to see if it’s a keeper or not. I just love clothes and shoes though 😜 I think you understand!!

  6. I went to the mall briefly on Monday. I haven’t been in probably a year, maybe longer, but I needed a particular item and figured the mall would have it. I tried on a bunch of dresses too in hopes of finding something for a wedding in June, but no luck. There were so many cute things out though! Made me want to shop, which is why I steer clear of the mall usually. I think I’m going to take a day and specifically go shopping for some summer updates, shoes especially. I tend to buy on the fly, mostly online, but I think I need to do some in person shopping now. I haven’t tried the Halara jeans but they look cute on you.

  7. Ugh…another comment lost! I’m think I just hit control backspace and deleted the whole thing?!?! Anyway, I’m glad you like the sweatshirt and got a good price on it. That is really nice that you have a relaxed dress code, but also good that you make the effort to look pulled together too. When I was a teacher in the 90’s (!), women had to wear panty hose or knee highs, closed toed shoes, dress/skirt or nice pants. Men had to wear a jacket or shirt with tie. We could wear jeans on Friday with a school shirt. Times have really changed, but I have to say that the teaching staff always looked very professional. Are you off school tomorrow?

  8. I have gone through so many pieces of clothing and donated so much to Goodwill and our local thrift store so I am not buying any new clothes. I’m waiting for my mother of the bride dress to be delivered and I also ordered four strapless bras from Nordstrom so once it is here, I will see which brawl works best and then I will return the other three. Oh I take that back, I did just order the cutest denim jumpsuit from anthropology. I have been wanting it for several months and I was able to try it on in the store and I fell in love!

  9. It seems like high schools, in general, are more relaxed about the dress code. When I taught up north, the teachers from the high school were always in school logos and joggers (though we didn’t call them that then). Here, it’s not surprising to see most elementary teachers in leggings and school logo tops (they’re in great shape…have to be to wear leggings without something covering the bum)! You look fabulous in those readers! I have been really good about getting an ootd on Insta for a while now. I may not get dressed until 3:30 in the afternoon, but I get a photo up there!
