This is what has happened this week…

Unfortunately, I was stuck inside at school all week, but you better believe I was outside from 4:00 on!
Let’s link up with Andrea and Erika, but the sun was definitely a favorite this week.
Other favorites…
Daylight Savings Time hit me hard on Monday and required an afternoon coffee with Erica’s classroom Keurig.
Tuesday I felt so much better but was in a treat yo’self mood and got a 2 shot espresso in a large cup with ice and added Premier to it. Yum! I also got a breakfast sandwich. This is what lack of meal prepping does, no? I have not really had my life together in 2025 as much as I have in the past.

Do you all follow Tidy Dad on IG? He is a NYC teacher originally from Kentucky. He spent some time as a school administrator but went back to teaching because he was so unhappy. I respect that and all of his systems he has put in place. I really like his book!

I sometimes take on too much and don’t like to ask for help. This Enneagram Type 2 description fit me to a T.

I told my sisters I would take on the phone calls, paper work, and thank you’s for my mom’s stuff. They told me to let them know if I couldn’t handle it all. So, the last time we were together we divided up the remaining thank you’s and I asked them to help make a couple of the phone calls that had been hard to make. Maybe I’m getting better?

Right? I miss Eddie Otis when I am gone. He is becoming such a loverboy.
Tom and I took a Target trip this weekend and we bought these:

OMG! We both love them. Have you heard of bamboo sheets?
I have really been into my spring fashions lately and showed them yesterday and I also did a post Tuesday on Spring Shopping.
Here is the other boutique dress I purchased recently. It was $39 and is by the brand Entro. Entro and Umgee are my two favorite boutique brands.

I placed an Old Navy order about 3 or 4 weeks ago and got this fun skort:

this fisherman core aesthetic tee:

Mason said it’s not really fisherman core because it’s just about eating fishy things, but whatever.
And, lastly, I got this off white blouse:

I just love white and off white.
These are just such a classic shoe and I wore them this week. They must run a bit wide because I have no discomfort in them.

They are the Adidas Stan Smith and mine have a gold heel. You can get them in green, gold, or navy. Maybe they come in more colors, too, now.
Apparently Tom ate lunch at a Chinese restaurant one day this week because he sent me his fortune: “Stop searching forever, happiness is just next to you” and his first love Ale 8 soda is just next to him.

He has a red sweater for his soda bottle, too.
If you are in education, you know it was a full moon. Remember the Stanley Cup fight? I found out the cups were full, too. They are all ok, by the way.
I did get to see the gorgeous full moon one morning!

I turned on the porch lights.

We still have two weeks before spring break. Well, 9 school days because we are out on the Friday before spring break.
We almost need the weather to be cold and dreary again to keep the kids focused!
What were your favorites this week?
Amy
For sure the sunny weather was a huge favorite of mine this week!

That fortune of Tom’s is so funny! He has a great sense of humor!
I have been wondering about bamboo sheets, I saw Quince had some and was thinking of ordering them. Are they super soft? Feel cool? What do you love about them? Influence me, Amy!!!
Have a great weekend!

We are both in love with the sheets – they almost feel like silk. They are 400 thread count which I think is good, too.
I like a sheet that is not going to make me hot and that feels cooling. These aren’t making me hot but I wouldn’t say they feel cool exactly. Anyway, we are both picky about our sheets we have recently learned.

DST kicked my tail too! Mason’s comment 🤣Tom’s text! 🤣 sweet comic – we miss Homer when we aren’t with him. I love the white top and green cardigan.
Today is a day we usually don’t have school…but I think it’s the one day we’re using for weather makeup day. We always have this on the calendar but since NTI , we usually don’t use it. To make matters worse, our spring break is a week later so I still have three weeks until SB 😭

Lol.
I felt pretty good after Monday so there’s that.
I think grief makes you tired. I feel mentally, physically, and emotionally tired.
I’m sorry you do have school today.
That is so painful that you have 3 more weeks. Can you take a mid-week day to yourself? I always say it’s needed because I will snap at a kid when I get to that point. Lol. Not really – but I worry that I will.
We don’t ever have built in days but we are out March 28 – so SB starts on a Th.
But, listen to this BS. Kids get out May 23 and we have to have 5 teacher days after that. We are trying to campaign for flexibility to do some hours on Saturdays or oaks Day – however the teacher would want to do it.
I guess I have 5 days to pack up my stuff and clean out my room but knowing my admin we will rotate and ‘learn” things.

We were just talking about it – since we went today and one of the days the kids had snow day – I think teachers will owe three and I hope we can flex them. You all definitely shouldn’t have to make up 5!

I am so sorry to admit that I laughed over the Stanley cup fight; I’m glad they were okay, but that is preposterous! I remember the full moon in a school setting, and it’s no joke. I love your recent finds, clothing wise, and that you were able to enjoy your porch this week. I have never heard of Tidy Dad, but now I’m intrigued! My favorite thing from this week has been having my friend Teresa here since Wednesday, and also my eleven thirty plans today!

Good on you for asking for help. We all need a little sometimes.

I guess a favorite this week is that I am starting to feel better. It was spring break this week for my daughter who is in grad school. She was going to come home but since we had Covid she decided to stay at school.😕 Stupid Covid!!! You have great timing because we need new sheets! I will have to look into those bamboo ones. Thanks! Have a great weekend.

It has been bright and sunny here. My hyacinths are up and have buds on them. We’ve even had temperatures in the low 70s. We had to buy a new washer…wahhh! But, now, maybe it won’t take as long. Next is new carpet…I hate picking out colors for carpet because it’s so big and so permanent.

It looks like that would be a good book. Whenever I get settled in a new, somewhat permanent place, I would like to live tidy with minimal things. Someone remind me I jus said this, ha! It looks like this week will be a little cooler for most of us, so hope that helps the students hang in there until spring break. Good for you for asking for help. Baby steps. Love all the outfits and hope you have a great Saturday!

I tend toward minimalism for sure!
My advice is to only keep decor items you love and to only place things you love in your new space. I think for us, too. I have a half day one day so that is keeping me going.
Thank you – having fun getting out spring stuff.
I hope you enjoy your spring breaker at home!

Spring has finally arrived to Sweden too, but it’s not to be trusted; suddenly it’s snowing again… But we’ve had a lot of sun – hallelujah!
I love all your cute outfits! White, yellow… love it all!
Did I tell you that both my kids work extra in a coffee shop chain that is huge here in Sweden? That gives us 50 percent off when we have a fika! It’s so great! One favorite is dirty chai; heard of it? It’s so good!

I think all administrators should have to every few years return to the classroom. Stay in touch with the day to day stresses and changes teachers deal with on the daily. I need to tackle my closet, but alas I do not feel on top of my life at the moment either. I have several appointments this week so it probably won’t happen, but here’s hoping. Have a great week!
