Not chic! I think I need to order Fiona Ferris’ book How to be Chic in Winter!
I don’t have a lot to show you from the past week (the above photo will justify that!) but I am happy to link up with Kellyann and Jill for Fashion Files!
So, closet goals right now are to wear my winter things that are non-Christmas colors that I haven’t worn yet. I have some royal blue, wine/burgundy, cream, and lots and lots of black. Another goal is to wear jeans and sweaters. I need to wear jeans that button and zip for accountability. I want to wear my Halaras everyday but as they are pull on, they might not keep it real. Maybe I will buy another pair of straight leg?
I love looking ahead to spring! I think spring is my favorite shopping season. I also like fall, but those bright colors after winter really have my heart!
One day I looked up some fashion trends and here is what I found and my thoughts…
2025 Fashion Trends
peep toe shoes – These look very retro to me and I’m just not sure. I guess you would only have to polish your big toe and your second toe.
no purses – Who are we kidding? As I enter menopause, I need more stuff, not less. I need a tweezer because of all my new facial hair (each day I find a new one!), dental floss as my teeth are getting closer together (?), eye drops for my dry eye, multiple pairs of glasses, a roller stick for a hot flash, gum, mints, bandaids (life is hard), and so much more!
sporty style – rugby tops – I would be open to trying this
statement collars – When you have a larger chest I’m not sure you need to make a lot of statements
loafers – I like my one pair of driving mocs/loafers, but I am not sure I will go in too hard on this
ruffles – in small doses
polka dots – would like to add a polka dot blouse perhaps
What do you think of these trends?
To go back to school Monday, I wore my black flare leggings, my short black boots (later changed into sneakers), Sweater Weather sweater, and black vest:

Tuesday I wore Halaras, Koolaburra Uggs, white button down, and star sweater:

Is it my head or this hat?

Looking to spring…
These caught my eye in a big way! I just plan to collect fotos right now.

And, this gave me some hope:

What about you?
What have you been wearing?
Amy
i think you look fabulous in Tuesday’s outfit. A white collar button up is my staple item.

I love your Tuesday outfit! Those halaras look so good on you and the cardigan is fun! Such a good look.
I have been thinking about the spring trends too – I will always have a purse. Gosh, I would be lost without one!
Thanks a bunch for linking up with us!

Other than loafers; which I used to love (and can’t find a pair I love lately!) I’m not big on any of these trends. Though I don’t mind a bit of ruffle and polka-dots can be cute but they’re not normally a pattern I’m drawn to. I really like Tuesday’s outfit and looking at Monday’s outfit I’m wondering what sweaters I have that I can pair with my vest… most of my sweaters are very, very thick.

I’m not a fan of any of those trends!
I remember being in middle school during one of the rugby top trends…they were so box and unflattering. I can’t unsee it.

I’m thinking I would look like a quarterback in a rugby shirt but I do like stripes!
Haha – they are just trying to get us to consume more!

I love that sweater weather sweater (that’s hard to say and type!). I don’t know about those 2025 trends…no ruffles for me, and I don’t know that I could do a statement collar with my big hair. I love the sneakers! I’m looking at tennis shoes now; I got some great recs from my friend (who is also my chiropractor) yesterday.

I had to laugh at your comments about no purses and statement collars: I agree! I actually love winter clothes because I love the layers, but Iike you I am trying to wear all the things! Love your star cardigan! There’s something about stars that I like!

I do like peep toe shoes in spring and summer and I love ruffles if they are placed properly- I am not a fan of the puffy sleeve look- makes me look like a football player but I love ruffles on the front of a top

The no purse trend?!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Who started that one?! Even my husband needs a purse (murse). For awhile he was carrying a banker pouch to put his wallet, phone, keys and small swiss army knife. He quit carrying it and now he just misplaces everything 😂

Loved your comment about only have to paint 2 toenails with the peep toe shoe, ha!! And the no purse trend is ridiculous. You’re so right, a 20 year old obviously came up with this idea….as a 55 year old, I need alllll the stuff. 🙂

Wait, what…no purses? I don’t think so. Hope you have a great day!

I loooove peep toe sandals, especially a (relatively) high wedge. Small polka dots yes, ruffles no – I am small framed and whenever I wear ruffles I look like a crazy old babylady 😉 I’ve tried, because I wear dresses exclusively all summer and there were so many cute ruffled ones last year!Almost my entire wardrobe is black and white, with some gray/green/navy thrown in. I love your star sweater and those black pants. My goal this year is add in some more tailored pants and fight the urge to wear stretchy pants every day!

So everyone’s going to know your personal business if you only carry a purse once a month? I don’t think so!

I think the polka dots is about the only trend I could embrace, other than like you, ruffles in small doses. Spring shopping is popping up in stores!

I saw that same article on fashion trends and thought, “Nope, nope, nope!” The idea of not carrying a purse makes my eyes itch. I’m not a big fan of open toe shoes unless we’re talking sandals! And, the statement collars may end up wearing me more than me wearing them. I am still considering the Halaras even knowing I’d have to hem them. Are they holding up? Do you recommend them?
