How was your weekend? Oh summer did not want to let go around here. It was hot, hot, hot Friday and especially Saturday! Yesterday felt a little better for the first day of fall. Can you believe it’s officially fall now?
I am linking up with Holly and Sarah for Hello Monday!
We need to get the boat trailer fixed so Tom I borrowing a slip in this marina from his bro-in-law. He picked me up after work (without letting EO know – haha) and we went down to check on the vessel.

He said let’s go out so I purchased some chips and queso from the little restaurant along with an Arnold Palmer (no alcohol) for Tom and a couple of seltzers for me.

We never do evening boating and we really should do it. Look how pretty!

I was also getting messages from one student in Spain who is at a wine festival! How fun!

You have to wear a white shirt, red bandana, and drink your wine out of the weird bag! I will be talking about my girls Ali, Madeleine, and Avery. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see Avery before she left but we have messaged.
Saturday morning was get the house in order time and it included a closet cleanout, a Goodwill drop off, and a Target and Trader Joe’s stop.
Target had a cute Hispanic Heritage Month display. I will show my students, of course!

I got home and call me Kevin McCallister (that is not how I thought it was spelled; had to look it up!) because I was home alone! I can’t remember the last time that happened! There was not even a chocolate lab puppy! Tom and EO were at the river and the 22 year olds had plans to hang with friends (one) and work (the other).

We had plans to take friends out on the boat from the marina around 4:00 so I had a little time for a little siesta in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, of course.
Well, womp womp. The boat was overheating so we just sat on it and sweat. I think it was the hottest I was all summer on the last official day of summer. Finally we gave up the ghost (is that the term?) and went to the little restaurant.

We had a lot of fun catching up with my number one male reader (Dan!) and wife Kara. After we said bye, Tom and I went back down to secure the boat.

Sunday I was both lazy and productive. I changed out my tropical placemats for my leaf placemats that still don’t look super fall-ish.

I have decided to just be even more minimalist because this weekend, Eddie Otis ate a stick of butter, my women’s gummy multivitamins, a Tul gel pen, and the Fire Stick remote. Well, we managed to get the remote before he could actually swallow it.
We have never had dogs that do this. I was so smug.
I had lots of reading time yesterday. It felt nice on the patio and I can never put an Elin down.

I did a Kroger pick up:

The face of someone who ate a stick of butter but got his multivitamin in…

I couldn’t take my fading Funny Bunny pedicure any longer and took myself to the nail salon Sunday afternoon. I was looking for a navy or a burgundy and I picked this one up and low and behold…

It is a dark purple/mauve with a nice iridescence to it. It looks way different in person than in photos, I think.

I picked up Thai food after because it was just too late to cook!

And, that’s a wrap. It was a nice weekend. I found some time to re-charge my batteries. It was a hard week!
Tell me the highlight of yours!
Amy
That evening boat ride looks so lovely! We never go out to enjoy the lake at night either (well we never did when we had a boat at least). It was actually quite cool here all weekend; in fact I have plans to put away ALLL my summer clothes today and pull out the fall sweaters and pants and things.

We are so set in our evening routine but need to do this more.
Wow! It’s truly fall there!

What a great weekend! Your evening sky photos are so pretty. Love the nail color. EO! Oh my! Homer ruined many remotes and our computer mouse more than once!

Thank you! I’m glad Homer was a bad boy, too, and has come out of it! Ha!

Oh my goodness, EO!! Holy cow, he is a curious one!
We celebrated my mom all weekend long – she turned 80 yesterday and we had a blast with her!

Ohh! Send some of that late summer this way, it’s feeling very Autumnal here.
The marina is just beautiful and it looks like you had a lovely evening on the boat.
What a treat to be home alone! It doesn’t happen for me often.
Uh-Oh! It sounds like Eddie Otis has been a cheeky little thing eating everything that he can. I hope his stomach is OK after everything. Eek!

We had the best weekend celebrating my best friends sons wedding at the coast! The weather couldn’t have been more wonderful!! Then we had to come back home and it’s in the high 90’s all week. YUCK! I am

Aww, wonderful. But not wonderful to go back to 90s. I need 70s for a while!

Oh wow, the pup chowing down on all the things I’m sure is stressful. Ours has had two belly surgeries ($$$) but both incidents occurred while we had a lot of people in the house. When he doesn’t get enough attention he gets into mischief. He has eaten many a baby sock, and he used to manage to pass those one way or another, but since the first belly surgery was so serious he has a lot of scar tissue and if he grabs a sock it’s not going down. We love an evening cruise…hubs likes to be out after dark but I prefer to come in when the sun has just set. Hope you get the boat issues sorted, but at least summer is winding down. Have a nice week!

It is! Wow! I really hope it doesn’t come to that.
Yeah, it’s always something with a very used boat. It will be ok.

I know. I dislike the dark, cold depths of winter so it’s bittersweet!

LOLOL. We were pretty smug after Scout and then Jett wrecked us. He ate everything and anything. Now, Mav also will eat anything and everything but we’re smarter than we were before. Plus, our house is babyproofed to begin with lol.

Yup! It happens! I bet the babyproofing does help. Tom is being annoyingly stubborn about just putting some stuff out of reach.

I hope you two are able to figure out why the boat is overheating so that you can enjoy it a little more before putting her away! That’s frustrating to have to go to plan B when A didn’t work out the way you thought. I’m glad you had such a great weekend! Your EO antics make me laugh, especially about you being smug. I literally laughed out loud. He looks so sweet and innocent, though! I love the Vampsterdam!

A boat is the gift that keeps on giving financially. Each summer there is something to fix and then you have to pay to winterize and store it. It was fine that we didn’t get to go out since we had on Friday night.
I know – I have never had a dog that has been this naughty. I was all braggy that our dogs didn’t do that.
Vampsterdam is so pretty! Thanks for the rec!

The evening boating photos are stunning! I love the picture of your students having such a great time in Spain. It reminds me of when I was a kid, watching the grown-ups drink from La bota, as they called it. Haha! They’d sit in a circle, talking and laughing, saying ‘Pasa la bota!’

Thank you! I hate that we don’t do it more. This is a good time to do it as the sun is setting earlier and more in our timeframe! Oh, cool! That sounds amazing!

Evening boating…that sounds like something you should put on your to-do list every day! What gorgeous photos! Well, not that I’m trying to one-up you, but Jack, my Westie, will eat just about anything. Mike had a cooling machine for his hip. Jack ate all of the plastic tubing and some of the foam rubber surrounding it (that was interesting). Then, I guess he thought he needed to wipe from the inside out so he ate a bunch of toilet paper. He also chewed up the little thing the toilet brush sits in. I swear this dog will eat anything that holds still long enough.
I think it is so cool you get these photos and texts from former students doing what you love to do! I love Home Alone times, too, though I haven’t had one in ages.
Have a wonderful week!

We need to do it more. We had the whole river to ourselves practically.
Oh my gosh! It makes me feel better that I don’t have the only crazy dog. My dog loves the toilet brush and holder, too. I don’t let him in the bathroom anymore. Tom was really bad about letting him in and I said he needed to stop.
I live for these photos and messages and I tell current students and I hope it inspires them. I like to think that my talking about Spain pushed the ones who are there now.
You too!
