Should I even do Fashion Files with Kellyann and Jill if I only have two outfits? Ha!

It’s Florida hot here this week, Kellyann!

I wore this outfit two days in a row, in fact. When I’m at home I have on a tank and shorts so I don’t “dress” for much of the day right now.

I took this in a Mexican restaurant bathroom mirror:

I wore my white Universal Thread from Target gauzy dress Sunday for brunch and Monday for a Mexican lunch. I have on my Target buckle sandals. I desperately need a summer bag. I think I accidentally donated my perfect J.Crew bag from years ago.

I got a new dress! Actually, I ordered 4 dresses from Walmart. I have a new Walmart Plus account that I am enjoying this month. 3 dresses arrived Monday and 1 dress is “delayed”. What is up with this lately? Ha!

The only dress I’m keeping:

It is Free Assembly and it’s cut just like this pink dress that I love, love, love from the same brand from Walmart:

Both dresses have pockets and I just really like the cut for me. I love black and white and I think it would look really cute with red shoes! I have red clogs but I don’t have red sandals.

The other two dresses just didn’t look very good and I am trying to be more discerning.

In this type of heat, throwing on one piece seems to keep me the coolest. The summer dress is so great! I also wear all of my dresses to school and I plan to rock the sneaker again. I have my sights set on a pair of Vejas for my treat to myself.

Ok, here is my amazing discovery that you probably already know about:

Walmart is picking up the 2 dresses that I don’t want! How cool is that?

What have you been wearing lately? Do you have a nice collection of summer dresses to throw on?

Cheers!

Amy

    1. It’s like a grocery and department store (low end) combined. Maybe it’s like a Primark or something like that in Europe? I think certain seasons I strike out and certain seasons I like all the things. I agree – I think I could do any color!

  1. I LOVE the idea of Walmart picking up your returns! Wow!!!

Isn’t the heat awful??? Aren’t you glad you don’t live in it? Ugh, it is so oppressive. I feel so badly for everyone dealing with the insane heat; it really takes some getting used to and when you’re not prepared for it, it’s brutal.

I like that black and white dress, great pick! This year has been my dress year, I prefer them over almost everything else. Red sandals would be so cute!

    xo,

    1. It was amazing!
Yes! Did you like how I mentioned you? I’m outside right now and it’s 69 and it seems like the humidity is not too high. Woohoo!
My photos this week are just so bad. I need to take a better one outside of the new black and white. It has a very artistic looking print. I tried it on with my red clogs for school and I love it.
I am so happy that I have some dresses I can throw on.

  2. Those dresses are really cute! I am back to shopping! I bought a tan vest this week, Jodie found me a pair of cowboy boots and I ordered 2 skirts from Cato’s last night. I also found a cute pair of wide leg pants in store and bought another last week! I did go through mine last week and found that I wouldn’t wear 2 of my older pairs: just didn’t like the style anymore.

    1. Thank you! You can’t go wrong with the blackwhite combo. Good job! I am really trying to weed out. I still have just too much and it doesn’t fit my style anymore.

    1. I have now worn it to three places out of maybe four places I’ve gone! Lol! It was so easy to make that return choice on the app. I think you might really like it.

  3. I love that new dress! I think it would be so cute with a colored sandal, like you said, but I also think it would look great with gold or bronze, and then match your jewelry to the shoe color. That stinks how you accidentally donated that bag! I’ve done something like that before, I and I was mad at myself. I didn’t know Walmart+ did pickup returns! You just taught me something new. I’m off to return some shoes now!

  4. I love my summer dresses! I have several from Old Navy that are made of rayon and so comfortable in hot weather. I also have a few cotton t-shirt dresses from Old Navy and Walmart. They are so easy to throw on and add cute shoes and jewelry and you’re done!!

  5. I haven’t bought clothes from Walmart in a few years actually. I used to get $5 workout tanks there. Now they’re like $15 and I’m like hmmm oh well. I haven’t tried dresses. Living in a place with *just* a Walmart for shopping, a lot of people wear Walmart clothes so I don’t want to accidentally match someone lol

    1. I get that, but I only do Walmart.com so most of the things I order aren’t in stores. I am enjoying Walmart way more than Target now with a few exceptions. I only buy from them online, too. The store is a mess! I used to love going in to the Universal Thread section and now I couldn’t find it if you paid me. The Free Assembly line is probably my fave Walmart. I hate that I like Walmart clothes, but I also like that I am open to all brands. I’m definitely not a brand snob like some people I know in my real life.

      1. I’m definitely not a clothing brand snob. I’ve spent way too much time in Old Navy and Target clothing for that lol. Plus, my thought was always that teaching in expensive clothes was pointless. Wearing not-jeans-and-tshirts-and-sneakers is, I think, important, but I was always able to buy dresses and skirts that weren’t expensive.

      2. No you’re not either. I do have lots of second hand stuff in my closet but I agree with that on what to wear to teach in. Elementary is especially not for expensive clothing.

  6. I LOVE your new dresses! I couldn’t figure out why your first dress photo showed a dress with two different hem lengths until I realized that your tote bag was covering the left side, lol!
