It’s Thursday and that means it’s time to link up with Kellyann and Jill for Fashion Files!
Last Wednesday I was off and I put this on for a dreary, drizzly day. It didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I was trying out platforms with these cropped wide legged jeans. I still think these jeans look the most flattering with ankles showing – with a platform sandal, a clog, or a pump.

Thursday at school we had our black history month showcase and were given t-shirts to wear. I noticed several other teachers did the yellow cardigan over it.

Friday was March 1st and it was a bit chilly, so I broke out the green hearts sweater. A note about the Adidas Gazelle platforms – the tongue is very stiff and it rubs slightly if your socks don’t come up high enough. I bought some socks that come up a bit higher to solve that problem, but I also hope that the tongue softens up.

Still wearing my coatigan as my coat:

Sunday I wore my weekend jeans – Old Navy button fly with knee holes. I also wore my Old Navy button up, my Olukai mules, and my Lily crossbody bag.

Monday for school I wore my last year Target blouse, black Umgee gauzy pants – love, and my new silver Gap mules.

Tuesday for school was “wear red for inclusion” day so I wore red pants with my last year Old Navy blouse.

Outfit Insp from Pinterest:

The color here makes me swoon! Her gazelles are a different color than mine, but she has a longer sock – see? I love how she paired them with a hot pink skirt.
The pink and green in this make me happy:

I like the idea of wearing them with all neutrals, too:

I love putting one clothing item into the Pinterest search bar! I also love doing that on Google!
And, love this – just taking a normal striped top ‘fit and adding them:

Other than the stiff tongue issue, they feel great! I really think platform sneakers have been missing from my life and now I also want some all-white ones. I like the added height they give to an outfit and to my stumps.
This is a hard time of year to get dressed for many – I am trying to embrace the green, continue layering for the varying temps throughout my day, and not rush the season – I don’t like to wear the super summery looking things yet.
What have you been wearing lately?
Amy
I love your Monday outfit…& the inspo pics are great. You are getting a lot of wear out of your new sneaks!

Thank you – had to switch to white sneakers of course! I am!

I love your gazelle’s so much! Pink and green always win me over. I think showing a little ankle makes all the difference. I heard the ‘perfect’ length is 1.5- 2 inches above the ankle bone.
I am still swooning over that green heart cardi! Thanks for linking up with us!

Thank you! I have worn them about 8 times now in just a bit over a week? What does that tell you? Ha! I think I need all white, but I have Madewell lower all white leather and I keep asking myself can the pink work when I “think” I need all white? That rule makes so much sense. My ankles are fairly slender and I think it’s flattering? That’s why I also like my ankles to have a bit of tan.
Thank you – it was a good Walmart purchase!
Thanks for providing the link up!

I know what you mean about the length of the wide leg cropped jeans. I only wear sandals/flats with mine; but honestly, that’s why those are the shoes that I wear the most. I don’t love the look of boots on me for that reason. I think that when your legs are short, they just somehow make you look even shorter. That’s just my thought, but who knows if it’s true or not?
This week I’ve been reaching for my 3/4 length or even short sleeved tops. I thought of you when I went into Cato last weekend because I saw the pants that are the Matilda Jane style! That may be the first time I’ve ever seen them in a store. I wasn’t feeling the shopping vibe that day, though, and didn’t buy anything. I didn’t love a lot of the trends I saw, maybe that’s why. I like your outfits from the week!

Yup! The jeans look great with my clogs and clog sandals. I feel like you need a bit of height. I don’t wear them with my flat sandals, either.
This is why 3/4 and short sleeve work for us in this part of the country – seriously 3 seasons!
Thank you – I am having fun bringing out some last year things. Like I said, I really don’t need anything new!

The yellow cardigan over the Black History Month black Tee and leggings is a great look!

Well, thank you! Maybe I can re-create it with a different tee for a normal day. I might look like a bumblebee, but I love them, so that is fine!

I’m wearing a cardigan over a lightweight sweater today with some leggings.. we’ve had lots of cool rainy days lately so I’m trying to stay comfy and cozy at home.

Those shoes would look really cute with some anklets (remember when we called them that) with lace! And, I think you could pull that off easily…you have that kinda vibe. I think your tee for Black History Month is cool…do you have specific days to wear them? It does look really good with the yellow.
All of my clothes are in one closet (sorta…a few hang in another one) so I see my spring things all the time. I am still cold all the time so I can’t wait to wear something without a tee under and a sweatshirt over!
Have a wonderful weekend, Amy!

Yes! That is kind of what I bought. They are way more comfy because they protect my ankle from the tongue. Ha – thank you! We were just supposed to wear the tee for BHM on Thursday of the assembly. I sure was comfy.
I run hot so hard for me to relate! Ha! But, my building is overheated.
You too!

I am loving the comfort and height of the platform. I think you NEED them! It really was great! I could have talked for longer. I will definitely be up for that. Maybe I will take my other half of my half day so I can meet you earlier!

I agree with your comment about the tongue on the Gazelle shoes. I was googling if it was just me or what. But halfway through my first day wearing them I couldn’t stand the tongue rubbing the front of my ankle area anymore. I took the tongue and pulled it up and tied the laces behind the tongue. Instant relief and I can still wear no show socks

That’s a good idea! I might try that. I bought socks that come up high enough so that the tongue doesn’t rub against my skin.
