I still love blogs! I hate when a blogger stops blogging and moves to Instagram only! It’s just not the same to me.
Blogs should be enjoyed with coffee!

This was a request from Irene – hi, Irene! She wanted to hear what my current list of blogs is. I am sure this will not be exhaustive, and I hate to leave anyone out. Some are very sporadic in their posting, but I do enjoy reading them when I come across them. I usually only figure out they have posted through a link up.
Also, leave me any blogs I should be reading in the comments!
My perfect blog:
Not too much kid stuff (sorry, but been there, done that) – like not an overload of photos of your kids playing blocks or something like that – he, he. I love kids! I swear!
My favorite content is:
fashion, recipes, product recommendations, movie Recs, TV show recs, book recs, life talk, spending time with friends and husband talk, tips, life hacks, and bonus if the writer is funny like Preppy Empty Nester!
Blogs Written by People I Feel Like I’ve become friends or friends-ish with:
I will often talk about them to Tom like we are IRL friends. I feel like Tom thinks I’m off my rocker. If you aren’t a blog reader, commenter, and part of the community, you just don’t get it! My blog people check on me more than some of my IRL people do! My blog friends are so supportive and caring and even send messages to me via IG and not just in the comments. My readers who aren’t bloggers also send me the sweetest words of support and encouragement.
Click on the red font to go directly to any of these blogs. Please do click on a few as it took me a sweet forever to put in all the links! Ha!
Host It Notes – my real-life high school friend Beth!
Blogs I read where the author has no idea who I am and I rarely comment:
Again, I hope I didn’t miss anyone! Leave me blog suggestions in the comments if you have any!
Amy
Hi Amy! Thanks so much for posting some of your blog faves! I’m so glad to have found your blog, probably from a linky party-turns out we have a lot in common! So I thought if you have blogs you enjoy, I would too, and many of your readers as well. It’s challenging finding blogs that are informative, engaging, and fun for women in our stage of life! I actually follow quite a few you’ve included! One of my favorites is between naps on the porch; Susan’s posts on her washer/dryer search helped me decide on my own recent purchase! Blog friends are like extended family almost and one of the best things about social media. Thanks again!

You’re welcome! I will check that blog out!

We read a lot of the same blogs; and I feel the same way about what makes up a favorite blog for you. I often talk about my blogging friends too and I think pretty much my entire family thinks I’m crazy.

Thanks for including me Amy! Blogging has changed over the years for sure and I know for a lot of people it has become a job. That sure changes the approach. But I really enjoy how well we get to know one another and honestly some of my closest friends are bloggers. It’s nice to be able to share so much of our lives with one another and support one another – so grateful to have connected with you!!

Yes it has! It really does change the approach. I feel the same. I don’t begrudge people making money and I would like to myself. I think it’s a rare blog that can stay personal and make money.
I am so glad I “met” you!

I don’t ever comment on those same bigger blogs either. When I read on my phone, it’s hard to respond unless I’m WordPress app.
This is a good list. I will check some of these out! I wish I had more time to read other blogs.

I agree! So much easier to comment on my laptop, but I know the bigger ones get so many comments anyway.
Yes! Let me know if you have suggestions for me.

Thank you for the shout-out! I also love some of the ones you mentioned. I double checked, but I don’t have any to add that you didn’t already mention. My perfect blog is also one without ads; one that you mentioned had so many ads on it, that I couldn’t even get to the content, so I immediately closed it on out on my laptop. I know people like to try to make money through adsense, but it’s too much of a hassle for me and is an immediate turn off. I know that sounds harsh! But it’s true.

Of course! Ok! I know – I agree about the ads, but I felt bad saying that. I also hate tiny pics and tiny font.

We read many of the same blogs. I have to say your IRL comment made me chuckle as I do the same thing. I’m sure my husband thinks I’m off my rocker too!

*cringes in too much kid stuff* ha ha. I rarely post *just* about kids as much as I thought would. Plus, I do want to respect their privacy.
If I were more organized, I’d post more fashion!
Thanks for the shout-out! I look at your blog almost every day 🙂

Nah, your kids are cute! I have no idea what kind of blogger I would have been had I started when mine were really young.
You are doing well to post as much as you do! Your season is busy!
You are welcome! Thank you!

What a great post! Thanks so much for the shout out. We follow many of the same blogs, although I did see a few more to check out on your list. I agree with some of the previous comments about the ads. I certainly don’t mind a few, but get irritated if I have to keep clicking to make them disappear. I also don’t comment very often on the “big” blogs. I have a blog roll on the side of my blog if you want to check out who I regularly follow. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

I am a big blog person, but don’t appreciate Instagram much 😉 I just read at this stage as my days are very full with work, children, dogs and a new business project.
To me, it’s important that I „like“ the blogger and that they come across as genuine. I am very open to the type of person I follow. I think it’s great that via blogs one gets to step into someone‘s world and „meet“ people one would not ordinarily meet. Having said that, I met five bloggers IRL over the years. One encounter was particularly funny. I bumped into a blogger I read regularly in a London supermarket by sheer coincidence (She obviously had no idea who I was but we ended up going for coffee at kids‘ play place a few days later.)

I agree 100% about the bloggers moving to Instagram only. I LOVE blogs and I still read them every single day, and it’s just not the same as scrolling through social media. I’m honored to have made your list! <3

First of all, thank you for putting me as one of your friends bloggers! I have to think, at some point, we will meet! I’ve always wanted to go to that Mayberry cafe in Danville…it would be fun to meet your sister, too!
Second, I do miss it when bloggers migrate over to Instagram. I often say I’m the world’s worst blogger because I only post there a couple of times a week. I like to read, and Instagram isn’t conducive to reading. That’s one of the reasons I love your blog…you actually write words…hahaha!!! But, what really bothers me is when a blogger just stops blogging. One of those, “When the Girls Rule,” bothers me a lot. Julia is/was from Michigan and retrofitted a van to go traveling about the country. And, then she just stopped posting. I’m truly worried something happened to her. Another blogger gave notice she was stopping and would leave content up for a bit before leaving altogether. You do develop a relationship with these people. And, yes, I talk about my blog friends all the time! Mike always looks at me kind of weirdly until he realizes it’s a blog friend vs an in person friend…maybe we should call them brick & mortar friends!
Have a wonderful rest of the week, Amy!

I agree on thoughts on the blog posts. I was telling a friend today about how thankful I am for this blog community! Most of my friends here don’t even know I blog. This week has been an off week for me due to the interruption of life, but I do enjoy this. Thanks for the mention and hope we can meet some day!

Yes! I am, too! Most of mine don’t read my blog, but I have told them about it. I guess that makes it worse! I hope everything is ok!
