I have a lot to share this week as I link up with Kellyann and Jill. I have them out of order, but that’s ok, right?
The weather in the last week has been a mixed bag. We had mid-80s and we had 40s in the morning a few days.
I wore this to go to dinner with Tom’s work friend. It was raining and I had worn the jeans all day, but changed into a flowly black sleeveless blouse from Loft from maybe 10 years ago and my beloved star cardigan that my mom gave me last year for Christmas. My shoes are too big, but I wish I had them in a size down. They are Dr. Scholl’s. They have great potential. Why am I having trouble sizing my shoes in the last year?

Before I went to dinner I wore my new TJ Maxx waffle top (I think I bought it in August thinking it would be great to have for fall and winter) to read on the patio in the light rain. The shoes don’t work with the jeans, but I had fun trying out my new top for the first time.

I wore this to the mall with my friend Beth. I got so many comments on my hot pink animal blouse that I bought over the summer.

I wore this to my boutique hotel pool day. The dress is probably 10 years old from Target and I wear it over my swimsuit to look a bit more polished than a coverup.

I wore this to eat lunch at the French restaurant with my friend Elizabeth. The jeans are Target Universal Thread, the shoes are a MIA dupe from Amazon, and this is my new TJ Maxx blouse that I bought that very day and put it on immediately! Ha!

A week later, this past Monday, I wore the blouse again to school with my Matilda Jane pants and my new Lucky brand ballet flats.

This is my other TJ Maxx blouse that I wore a couple of days after I wore the first one. I have on my consignment Kut from the Kloth jeans and my Eurosoft sandals.

And, another school outfit this week. I wore my Old Navy chambray (love this! I have it in cream, too.) with my mustard Matilda Janes and my Danskos. Why can’t I figure out what to do with my face in my photos?

My mom bought me most of my Matilda Janes from a former rep – isn’t that cool? I found my first pair at a consignment shop, bought two pairs new after seeing how much I liked the first pair, found more at a consignment shop, and my mom hit the mother lode from a former sales rep in my hometown. The quality is freaking awesome. They wash well. They add a bit of fun and they feel like me. Do I look like a 5 year old? Maybe? Do I care? No! Being a teacher requires a lot of movement (yes, even at the high school level) and these are really a great teacher pant. Sadly, Matilda Jane is no more, but you could find some on Ebay or at a consignment store I bet. If the ruffles are not for you, they have a great pant with layers at the bottom that flair out a bit.
Anyway, that is what I have put on the bod this week.
What have you been wearing?

I love the Star cardigan & the new blouse is perfect. I love my MJ pants too. I have black and green. They are cute and comfy

Thank you! The star cardigan is the perfect weight for me, too. It’s not too thick. My problem is that I went in hard on the MJ pants – I should count how many I have! Ha!

Thank you, Kathrine! I am gravitating toward a smaller fall wardrobe with only things that are perfect! I am lucky that I am using my son’s spare closet to put anything I don’t love right now in to reduce visual clutter. Ha!

I like those colorful tops from TJMaxx so much and of course I love that hot pink with the leopards – super fun and cute too. I never know what to do with my face either in photos and I feel like a total moron when someone else starts taking photos and they move the phone all around. I never know where to look! Up? Down? UGH!!

I said I need more solids, but the heart wants a print! I am definitely not a model and I just look so weird, but it makes me laugh. I hope other poeple enjoy my weird faces, too. It’s not about the face, but about the clothes, right?

You did good on all your tops this week! I also really love the MJ pants. I don’t know that I could pull them off, but they look great on you. I love a wide leg pant and have the most comfy J Jill pants that are like this…those are some of my go to pants when the weather turns cooler. I like wearing them with a graphic t and a 3rd piece of some sort. It’s kind of the same vibe you’ve got going with the MJ pants, which appeals to me and feels like my style. I’ve been living my best fall break life this week and have been living in my comfiest clothes. My staple outfits consist of my favorite black NY & Co pants, and either a cute top, a poncho type shirt, or a t-shirt with a cardigan or vest thrown over. I’ll have to start taking pictures of this again…and I need to clean out my closet again to see what I have. It gets messy from season to season!

Thank you – I was really lacking in blouses for this time of year. I love my MJ pants and I’m not sure I do pull them off, but don’t really care!
I think J.Jill can be great for those kind of pants. I have looked in the last couple of years and just haven’t found the right fit and length for me.
Please do a clothing post soon! I love a clothing post!

I need that woodland print shirt in my life! Love that! Cleaned my closet out this week. I have been very intentional about my purchases this season. I have a good variety of blazers and jackets, but I did not have enough tees and other shirts to coordinate with them, so now when I look in my closet, I see outfits. Being petite, I always feel like I need a column of color with a jacket or blazer; but if the top coordinates with the jacket, then the bottom can be anything. This has been a revelation…I am a slow learner. 😊 Also found the perfect boots that have a higher shaft and will fit under my jeans… that is the look right now, correct? So now, some of my cropped jeans that I only wear in the warmer months now have a second life during the fall and winter. Also bought a cute wrap….one thing I don’t need is another sweater. I have too many sweaters. Now, I am off to hunt for woodland print tops. 😀

Beth, the print literally spoke to me! Nice! It really helps to see what you have and to have breathing room. You gotta have those basics to be able to wear the other stuff, right? I love that trick, too. I call is a base layer. I can’t wait to see your boots. I don’t have anything modern like that yet, but I only have one cropped flare jean and one long flare jean.

Cute ‘fits! Matilda Jane must’ve been a southern or east coast thing. Never once did I hear about them in California…. I’ve purchased two new lululemon align leggings. Espresso and Merlot color. Basically coffee and wine. Their align leggings are the best I’ve ever worn. I’ve tried dupes on amazon and nothing compares. I’ll spend the $98 per pair because they last and the feeling of them on is amazing. I need to do a sweep of my closet and list some athleta on Poshmark. Since covid thier quality has gone down and so has thier customer service. They used to be the Nordstrom of the athleisure world. Oh well! Happy Thursday!

I think so? It’s really a children’s brand, but they made a few things for women. Nice- I have also heard people love those. I do think some businesses have definitely changed since then! Have a wonderful weekend!

My granddaughter wore so much Mathilda Jane! The company was from Fort Wayne, just a few miles from where we used to live. I have a pair of the other kind of pants you talked about at the end. I always wanted to get a pair of them in black. It’s a shame they couldn’t make a go of it. The clothing was such great quality. My daughter just about always got the same as what she paid for them.
I think both of those tops from TJ Maxx are fabulous. You influenced me to buy a shirt similar from Talbots! I need a new shirt like I need a hole in the head, but oh, well!
