Well, it’s a sad day for me because my Fall Break is over, but I am also excited and happy to see my students. We have a lot of fun stuff coming up this month and next. I really like what I teach fall semester, so it’s all good. I’m also getting more used to my new schedule and seeing more positives about it.

I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday, of course!

I had such a nice week. It was a good mix of social time, down time, productivity, and getting healthy after being sick, and catching up on my sleep.

I told you in Friday Favorites what I did up until Wednesday, so let’s start our weekend at Thursday, okay?

Also, having a blog is weird. I take lots of weird photos and oftentimes I’m thinking…”does anyone really care about my mundane life?”

I am not special and I don’t want to come off like I think I am.

Thursday was a crazy morning. Mason’s debit card was compromised and there were tons of online gambling charges. So, you can imagine the phone calls both Tom and I had to make. It is still not resolved as I write this on Sunday.

I met my friend Beth at the mall and to eat lunch at BJ’s. I had a wedge salad and an individual pizza. The wedge was the best part of the meal, for sure.

We saw these holiday shorts in one store at the mall. Anyone?

I only bought some Bath and Body lotion with a coupon, but had a lot of fun with Beth.

I came home and it was rainy and perfect for a hot chocolate on the covered patio. This mug is a gift from twin girls I taught. How cool is that? I go by this name at school!

Tom’s work friend invited us to dinner at Bonefish and it was delish!

Ernie!

I didn’t read as much as I thought I would, but I am enjoying this book that I just happened to find at the library.

Saturday, I knew it was time to get some meal prep done. I now have 10 breakfasts ready in the freezer.

Saturday the weather turned cool and I made the first pot of chili of the season.

Saturday was also an adventure for Tom. He and I went to Liquor Barn for his beer cheese stock up and then to Aldi. I think Tom is becoming an Aldi convert, too.

He was on the roof of the garage and the ladder fell. I was putting groceries away and saw his text.

Jack and I came to the rescue. I’m glad he had his phone because I probably wouldn’t have known he was stuck on the roof!

In Mason England news:

Saturday night was perfect for a fire and we watched football and enjoyed this:

I also started this and I am loving it. I loved the book!

I am able to watch it on Amazon Prime.

What was the highlight of your weekend?

Amy

  1. We went out to dinner with the whole family celebrating Ian’s new CDL (that he don’t actually have yet but he did pass his test on Friday). It sounds like a wonderful end to your fall break. I hope your week goes well at school and that Mason’s debit card gets all straightened out soon.

  2. Bummer about Mason’s debit card. I hope that gets resolved soon. Those nutcracker shorts crack me up but I can imagine someone looking so completely adorable in them! Tom’s texts were funny from the roof!
Have a good day back, Amy!

  3. I love the mug. So sweet. Tom on the roof! Oh no. We got home late Friday and then we had roofers banging on the roof Saturday at 7:30 am . Ugh but at least we have the new roof now. I hope Mason’s card situation is fixed soon. That stinks. I want to watch Flatshare. I loved the book.
I hope you have a great Monday.

    1. It’s a Rae Dunn! Isn’t that awesome that they found it? Tom tries to do too much himself sometimes. Ugh – I bet the teens were not happy about that and it was all your fault! Ha! Me too – I am happy it’s Monday so that hopefully something will happen on the debit card front.
      I hope you do, too!

  4. What a sweet mug. So sorry about the debit card. I know what you mean about blogging but I certainly care and I bet all your readers do too. Have a great week back!

  5. I always laugh at myself for that same reason taking such strange pictures. I do it all for my blog and often wonder the same thing! But then I remember that I also do this as a hobby. I really do love this little online space and prettying it up with pictures and new designs makes my heart happy. I really hope Mason gets his bank stuff figured out today! That’s stressful doing from afar, I can only imagine. Does he share pictures with you on those texts? I’d love to see some of them, if so! Liverpool sounds like a place I’d love. Have a great day back at school, my friend!

  7. Oh, I hate it with the debit card! So much work to solve it!
    The shorts were… different… 🙂
Weekend was fine, actually spent it on the city with little soldier girl 😁.
Nice to hear that you have fun lessons ahead of you – please share!

  8. Sounds like your weekend was a good one. Tom on the roof …. Sometimes you just have someone else do that!! Or make sure there is someone watching the ladder. We spent the weekend with Taylor and her boyfriend at the beach house. Kelsey and Joaquin were with us Saturday to watch football and Sunday for dinner. My heart has been so happy all weekend! Sam’s from the east coast and hadn’t been to pismo beach so it was fun showing him all the things!

  9. I feel the same way about blogging, but then remember it’s for me 🙂
And I love that the rest of you share your lives….it’s like having coffee with a friend no just “catching up”. Have a great week!

  11. Glad to hear it was a good fall break and hope today was good being back in routine. I know you are thankful Tom is okay and wasn’t hurt. The highlight of my weekend was staying at home all day Saturday and the cooler weather!

  12. I loved the Flat share and need to watch it! I’m glad Tom was able to get in touch with you guys. It could’ve turned into a Christmas Vacation scenario when Clark was trapped in the attic. What a bummer about the debit card. That is so rude of hackers and such a huge pain!!!
It sounds like Mason is having a great time abroad! That is my one regret from college that I didn’t take advantage of a study abroad program.
And, I agree it feels weird to take pictures sometimes, but I am glad you do. I love following along with your life. Your boys are 7 and 9 years older than my guys and it’s nice to “see” into the future. Keep it up!! Also, I read every day but have been a terrible commenter. I am working on getting better at that! Have a great day!

    1. I’m loving the show! Ha! Tom is crazy sometimes!
My sister regrets it, too. My little sister and I both did it. Oh, I agree. I was always interested in bloggers with kids older than mine, too. I get it – commenting takes a lot of time and I read but don’t comment on several, too.

  13. How frustrating for Mason and you at having his debit card compromised. I hope you’re able to get it solved soon. Fall break starts here in a week or so and lasts for two weeks. When I first started teaching, we had Teacher’s Institute which was a break for the kids, but we had to attend meetings. Then, we got a Thursday afternoon and a Friday off. I think, before I retired, we had Wednesday-Friday off. I think you should totally get the Nutcracker shorts! You could find a way to make them work!

    Have a wonderful week, Amy!

    1. Thank you – I worried that he would lose his wallet but didn’t anticipate this! Oh gosh, a teacher’s institute just sounds awful. I am so over all the meetings and “new” initiatives. Ha – the nutcracker shorts would get a lot of attention, I’m sure!
