Ah, what a week! We had summer like weather from Sunday through Wednesday and I was ok with it because I knew it was probably the last of it for us this year, but who knows? The world is quite topsy turvy, no?

Favorites this week:

Boating Time! We love boating after Labor Day because so many put their boats away and we have the river to ourselves!

Sunday Tom, Ernie, and I boated and had a lovely time.

Monday I visited my favorite consignment shop, Sassy Fox, and I had made some money from my fall and winter clothing I took there on August 1st! Woohoo! This goes into my clothing fund!

I went to bed early and felt so much better after having allergies last week!

Lots of Friend Time!

I had a lovely French lunch with my friend Elizabeth who I used to teach with. She now works in an office very close to this restaurant so it worked out perfectly for her lunch break.

I got myself a shiny navy blue pedicure.

Tuesday was the warmest day and I had a really fun plan! My friend Victoria and I met at Myriad Hotel, a new boutique hotel in town, and bought a day pass for their “swim club”.

The pool is heated and they have no closing date for the season yet!

The vibe was perfection, the lounge chairs were thick and comfy, and we had the whole place to ourselves for a couple of hours. Then, there were only a handful of other people.

We shared some lunch poolside:

We had a cocktail poolside:

It was a lovely way to spend a day!

Wednesday, I went to see my friend Jessica’s new house and she ordered us lunch. I got a Thai chicken salad and it was delish!

Don’t worry, I was home for dinner each night and Tom was fed well.

He had man approved meatloaf:

He had a German meal of sausage, fried cabbage and skillet potatoes:

He good!

I thoughtt it was funny to see my flip flops in the leaves. It was high 80s but the leaves had already started falling!

I haven’t been in a great reading mode this week, but have enjoyed some afternoon Netflix movies:

I had some glorious time this week due to fall break!

What were your favorites this week?

Amy

  1. I agree about the weather being topsy turvy everywhere. Here it was boiling hot until Wednesday and now we are back in full winter all over again with puffer jackets and everything! Your pool day looks so much fun! Have a great weekend Amy.

  2. Oh how I soaked up this last week of 80’s! Poolside cocktails are the best. Our pool
Is heated too but we’re closing it in 2weeks. Watch, we’ll get Indian Summer, lol. So glad you’ve enjoyed so many sweet moments. Good looks divine!

    1. Yes! I miss my mornings outside already. It’s just too cold. Oh, that will be a sad day when you close it. I hope you get a couple of warm afternoons at least. Thank you!

  3. I wondered if this was your fall break! Ours is next week, in our area. I’m glad you had such a great week! That rooftop pool day looked like perfection. I would still love to do that someday! I check to see if we had anything like that in our area, and we don’t. Don’t you love seeing leaves on the ground?! I do! I love to hear their crunch, too. Enjoy your day and weekend, my friend!

    1. Yes! It was early! This wasn’t part of the resort pass so you might just call around to a boutique hotel and see if they offer it. I do – I love all things fall.

  4. Sounds like a relaxing fall break! I think that is a great idea of the pool day pass. I checked once before, and we don’t have that in our area. Enjoy your weekend & now I think the warmer weather has turned the corner.

  5. Glad you got to enjoy your fall break! One thing I learned when we moved to the south, is that fall break as much warmer than spring break… I love that addition to our calendar. Hope you feel rested and refreshed and ready to tackle those kiddos Monday morning, but not before you’ve enjoyed this weekend 🙂

    1. That is so true and I didn’t even think about that! We had a pretty warm spring break last year, but end of March and April can still be very cold. I had a really, really good break at home. I’m very thankful!

  6. Congrats on the earnings from the consignment shop. The one here doesn’t really seem to cater to people who wear the kind of clothes I take in. But, she does donate them to shelters after a certain time so I don’t have to worry about them anymore.

Your pool day seems like a fabulous thing! And, to have it to yourself would be glorious! It rained all day yesterday (Thursday) and is very cool today with lows in the 40s tonight! I love this weather!

    1. Thank you! This one is really nice but they are picky and don’t take fast fashion.
It was amazing! I would love to get a chance to do it one more time if we have a warm day and I am off work.
I like this weather, too. I am afraid my outsides mornings are over, though. It’s been too cold!
