Today’s edition of Friday Favorites with Andrea and Erika is going to be short and sweet. Why are short weeks so long? I was in the hole all week sleep-wise. I didn’t sleep great Monday night or Wednesday night and it really affected everything. Ugh!

But, here are some favorites from the week…

Beth and Bob came over for pizza on Saturday night and Beth brought some flowers from her yard. I have been enjoying them all week:

Tuesday, on Jack and Mason’s birthday, I found a penny at school in a very odd place. I believe that all the pennies I have found since my Dad passed in 2018 are from him. It’s comforting to me and I save them all! He was so excited about their birth and they made him a Grandpa which he treasured.

Tom got donuts in the morning for their birthday and then got the Chinese in the evening for them. I was busy working a double with our open house, but I came home at 8:00 and joined in.

I grabbed this at Kroger the day before and they each had a bit and Jack hated it! Mason said it could be an acquired taste.

And, we had a cookie cake:

I am hoping to finish this book this weekend as I have had zero reading time:

I plan to listen to some Jimmy this weekend…

I did my nails in this color again:

Tom’s friend went to Vermont and brought him back some amazing Vermont white cheddar that we enjoyed before dinner one night this week…

These pant made me happy this week. They are gauzy and so comfy, but I also like the look of them. See more details from Fashion Files yesterday!

I like to start my day outside during the week, too, when the weather cooperates. It just puts me in a different mindset before I feel trapped inside a building for 8 hours!

Ok, look at this forecast and I apologize in advance to all the Texans…

Now if only the mosquitoes would go away…

  1. So cool with you finding that penny! I believe in those signs! When you start looking for those signs…!
    My favorite is that I’m at the cabin and we’re going to take the boat to a nice restaurant for lunch! It’s the last week of summer according to the weather report and I’m going to enjoy it fully!

  2. Absolutely believe that penny was from heaven and your daddy! How special. What a special birthday for your guys. Mr. Nine lives two hearted ale; me, no way, lol. Your top and nails are so pretty. I’m loving this cooler weather too up here. Have a great weekend.

  3. Happy birthday to your boys! How special to find a penny from your dad on their birthday. I believe in signs like that too-I know my mum is saying hi whenever I see a rainbow or a pretty butterfly happens to fly near me.

  5. Happy 21st to your boys! That Chinese food is making me so hungry; I can’t remember the last time we got Chinese food. We used to have a local place that we got takeout from but they burned down (and had been really disappointing the last few times we got food from them anyway) most of our places up here just aren’t very good unless you want pizza and pub food.

  7. Awww, the pennies and your dad – so sweet. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that it was 5 years ago that my dad was diagnosed and then died. I think it’s why I have been having a hard time with Jimmy Buffett dying – I have been struggling with it this week. Grief is a never ending journey.
    On a lighter note – love the nail color and those pants you bought! I hope you have a great weekend and maybe you can take the twins out to happy hour!!

  8. Short weeks were always the worst for me too! I spent the week playing catch up. I’m sorry to hear you’ve not been sleeping well…I hope you’re able to catch up on that this weekend. It’s probably exhaustion from the days of company you had as well, and the fact that you were way busier than normal. Aside from that, I’m glad to see your week ended on a high note. Our weather is dipping to those temps some next week as well! I’m beside myself excited. Have a great Friday!

  9. Lol! Thanks for the apology regarding the weather! Supposed to be 105 in San Antonio today 😬 A favorite for this week was a trip to Trader Joe’s with my daughter. We picked out lots of fall and pumpkin flavored items. 😋 A not so favorite from this week – we had a portion of an oak tree crack and break last night. It hit the power lines going to our house but thankfully we still have power. Just a reminder to check your trees for cracks!

  10. I was out sick Tues and Wed this week, and it still felt like a long week! I’m hoping to get some reading done this weekend too. All of my library holds are coming in at once, and I’m reading as fast as I can, lol! I’m jealous of your fall temps. When it drops below 80 here in Florida, it’s sweater weather for sure. Enjoy the weekend!

  12. Happy birthday to your sons! My two oldest had their first beers before turning 21, but my youngest didn’t. He and his dad went out for a beer together. He was not impressed!
    That was almost 20 years ago! I don’t find pennies, but every once in a while, I get a whiff of my mom’s favorite perfume right in the middle of nowhere.

    My favorites this week? Hmmm…not cooking a few nights. I really hate to cook unless someone hands me a recipe and the food. I also got a couple of new things from Kantha Bae which I love. I have a membership to their club, but I think it’s time to cancel because I just don’t need anymore!
