Well, I bought one thing from the Nordstrom sale – I have thought about buying these Wisdom black pants for years and I really do need a nice pair of work pants. I have so many blouses and not many nice pants in solid colors. Did you purchase anything? I will let you know when these arrive if I keep them!

I haven’t done Fashion Files in a few weeks and seriously, it has taken me this long to have some outfit photos to do a post! I have been living in my lounge clothes/jammies, exercise clothes (love my two pairs of black biker shorts with pockets!), and bathing suits and coverups.

I wore this to go out to eat with Tom a couple of Saturdays ago. The skirt is from TJ Maxx, the top is J.Crew new with tags from consignment, and the sandals are Target. Yes, I did make a good purchase with these. I would say they are the most worn sandal of Summer 2023.

I wore this to the social security office and it was my goal to put on jeans to “keep it real”. Well, it was kept real. The jeans are Target Universal Thread, the top is J.Crew Factory that I got for $13 this summer. And, the Target sandals – of course!

I need to replace this brown purse with another purse that I can use all my straps with. I am thinking gold. I just haven’t found what I want at the price I want yet.

For our anniversary, I gave Tom a choice of 3 dresses and he said the floral so this is what I wore. The dress is from Walmart and the sandals are a few years old – Coconuts by Matisse. What is going on with my mirror?

And, let me introduce you to my new blouse. I purchased this from a local boutique but the brand is Umgee. It looks like a pajama top, but I love it. I wore it to run errands to try it out. I wore my cut offs and my gold lace up Marc Fisher sandals that are a few years old. I can picture this with black pants in the fall and winter and I think it will be a fun blouse to have. The print is jaguars or cougars or some kind of wild cat. MEOW!

And, that’s all I’ve got for you today! It still isn’t too terribly hot here. We have had a few unbearably hot days, but we aren’t to the sticky heat yet. It’s coming. That is the point of the year when you can hardly even put on real clothes and right when we go back to school – ha!

  1. I’ve been wearing a mix of things lately– though our weather is getting pretty warm and muggy so I’m definitely wearing more shorts and tank tops this month. I too tend to wear a “regular” dress as a coverup.

    1. I know – ours is, too. But, I also stay in the AC more at this point in the summer so I guess I need layers sometimes. I have a few regular dresses that I like to wear, also.

  2. I LOVE that JCrew blouse so much, I looked online and couldn’t get. Wondering if I actually go to the store if they might have it. Pink and green are my faves.
    Your new blouse is fabulous! It will look great with your new black pants when they arrive.

    1. Oh shoot! Did you try J.Crew Factory? Do you have a store? I bet you could. Sometimes you can find things on Ebay, too? I will look for you, too.

    1. I was proud of myself and then I thought – this is a major hole in my closet and why am I not making life easier by filling it! I am getting ready to look at my fall and winter clothing and I have an appointment at my consignment store to sell what doesn’t suit me anymore. I will let you know what I think of them. I would still pay full price of $78 if they are that good!

  5. Girl! I’m jealous that you haven’t had sticky hot weather yet. For that reason, I’ve been at home a lot and that means living in lounge clothes. I got dressed for choir practice last night, which felt felt great. I wore some white skinny jeans, and that faded olive shirt that you liked and thought was Umgee. I bought some new sandals this week! I wore those, which made the outfit more fun…check out my Friday Favorites post tomorrow for a peak at them. They’re a new to me color and I LOVE THEM. I will wear them all the way through the rest of summer and maybe even into fall, depending on what I have on. I love that new pink top, and I love the dress you wore with Tom a few weeks ago.

    I love your brown purse, so I hope you’re keeping it- I can’t wait to see which one you pick out. I’m intrigued by the thought of gold! I am still loving my splurge of a purse I bought for my birthday last year- I have worn it winter, spring, and now summer, but because it’s so neutral, it works perfectly! It’s the one I shared on Monday with the kindle beside it in my car. I loved this post today! It’s another day when I’ll get dressed- I’m meeting some friends for lunch. Woohoo! More than lounge clothes, and swimsuit/coverup!

    1. It’s coming! I think a metallic sandal is so useful and you won’t believe how they match everything. The brown purse is showing wear and tear and ripping on the bottom so I can’t keep it – I am sad. I have used the heck out of it. I am really into being hands free with purses these days.

    1. I will let you know! Pants are kind of hard for me, but a good pair of black pants is pretty much a no brainer. Makes getting dressed for work and events so easy when they are just right. Thank you!

  7. Looking forward to hear what you think of the pants. I bought a pair last fall and wore them a few times, but the fit just seemed odd. It’s probably me and not the pants, but I did donate them. I loved the fabric though.

    1. I will let you all know! I will keep that in mind about the fit and will definitely send them back if they aren’t perfect. I didn’t get petite length, either, so that may have been a mistake.

  9. Sticky heat has come to Central Indiana so it may be on its way to you. I bought some Laura Mercier setting powder from the NSale, and that’s it! Nothing even really tempted me. Your J Crew Factory top is gorgeous…love it with jeans.

    As for what I’ve been wearing…dresses! I’ve been wearing dresses because they’re easy, comfortable, and I’ve got ’em!

    1. Yeah – it looks like we have 80s and sun for a bit and then I bet the 90s aren’t too far behind. The sale is a good time to stock up on beauty that you know you will need and use. Thank you! I love the pink and green combo and always have. Dresses are so easy to throw on and keep you cooler. I also hate my legs sticking to the chair. I will check out the weekend traffic jam.
