Thanks for listening to me whine on Monday in my Hello Monday post! I love summer and really have nothing to complain about. I love the slow mornings, sitting outside, and just everything that comes with this season of rest for me.
Monday was just glorious. It was lightly raining when I woke up. I went to the gym and then spent a couple of hours on my covered patio with a candle burning.
So, here is my list of goals for the summer or my summer bucket list. Some involve just me, some are for Tom and I, and some are involving the whole family.
Read!
Catch up on movies and tv
Go to the movies with the whole family – Seeing Asteroid City this weekend for a gift for Tom that he requested
3 pm coffee or iced coffee

Start a stretching routine
Move body each day/start a good exercise routine again
Try some new recipes
Celebrate Tom’s birthday
Celebrate Father’s Day
Take a wine walk with wine in my Stanley Cup. This will also serve as a weighted walk since the Stanley is so heavy – Ha!
Buy a bag of Chick Fil A ice to keep in freezer
Shop at Asian Market and see if I can try something new to me
Shop at Mexican market and see if I can try something new to me
Eat more fish/cook more fish/visit a local specialty fish market called Lori’s Fish Market
Go to farmers market

Go to adult pool – One of our pools has an 18 and over pool. It’s nothing inappropriate!
Go to Omni rooftop pool
Enjoy the boat with just Tom
Sunset on boat – we don’t often go out in the evening but everytime we do I wish we did it more
Invite different friends on the boat

Walk to breakfast with Tom – we have at least 3 breakfast places in walking distance.
Make strawberry freezer jam
Make pickles
Use up gift cards from students
Declutter and prepare a nice area for houseguests at the end of August
Go through my list of spaces and totally clean things out. I have already done my silverware holders. I need to do spices and things like that.
Try to play pickleball
Go to festivals and music events
Go hear live music
Have a picnic – maybe at the Sunday afternoon farmer’s market in the park nearby
Spend time in my hometown and hopefully match schedules up with all the busy teen nieces and nephews
Go to my hometown by boat
Celebrate our 23rd anniversary
Take a short overnight trip with Tom
Try new restaurants with Tom, friends, and our kids
Spend as much quality time as possible with my kids as this could be the last summer they live here – cue the tears
Go hiking
What have I forgotten? What is on your list?
Amy
This was so fun to read- now if you accomplish all of this, it will be one amazing summer! Enjoy every day!

Haha! I probably won’t accomplish it all but that is true!

That is quite a list! I don’t think you have forgotten a thing. I need a stretching routine, my body really needs it. I hope you check off everything on the list – you are sure to have a very fulfilling summer!

I think it’s pretty simple stuff, though. I know. I used to be so flexible. I would break out the splits at any given moment.

You have such an awesome list. Can you buy CFA ice at CFA? We would love that. I think I would try to be on the boat at sunset as much as possible. I love a good sunset. I’m already behind on decluttering. It’s a major to do for the summer. I even have things in the garage I want to toss. This weather is killing my pool time but I have enjoyed front porch time and lazier mornings when possible

Yes! I think I need to make that happen tomorrow! Do you know how good my cocktails could be with that ice? lol. I have not been making many cocktails but rather drinking all the white wines and Trulys and Vizzy Mimosas. This week is just ugly weather. I do love being outside at my house in it, though. The reason for few sunsets is that my captain goes to bed too early.

This was such a great list of things to do this summer! Fun fact- my older boys used to work at CFA, and they used to bring me home bags of their ice all the time. The year that I almost hemorrhaged to death (not even kidding- it was a big health scare that resulted in a big surgery) was the year they did it the most, because I was so low on iron and craved ice non stop. On a lighter note, I also love farmer markets and hope to get to the one near me tomorrow. I’d also like to go to the one in Memphis on Saturday with my sister. One thing she and I want to do is spend more time together with just the two of us. We said that on Saturday night last week when we ended up at Lowe’s together. Good luck with all your hopes for this summer! I’d love to hear about your stretching routine- someone else mentioned that to me recently in my blog comments, Debbie, maybe? I think she use a YouTube video. Enjoy your day!

Oooohhhh all the ice! Love that! That sounds horrible.
Good luck on the farmer’s market. I think I am going to go again tomorrow. I will let you know – no stretching yet!

I like the wine walk idea! I do wine in a tumbler in the backyard.
Honestly, I was thinking “I can’t believe I didn’t even plan anything” and then realized I am really invested in reading the Magic Treehouse Books to Wells to I’ll see if we can get super far into the series this summer. Literally, that’s my goal.

It’s going to be so heavy! Ha! That is a great goal and I bet you have more on your list than you think.

Grill more. Get in our pool at least once. LOL I didn’t swim at all last summer! Go to the beac house more often (already scheduled so let’s hope!) Saturday afternoon movies and then dinner out somewhere new to us. GOLF! I am dropping my scores and getting more confident. Team Play starts in August! You list sounds very involved and I hope you get to as many activities as possible!

Get in that pool, girl! Do you have a nice raft? That would make a difference for me. I think my list is simple – isn’t that funny? I have already done a lot on it, too.

This is a great list. I used to make them and haven’t lately…it helps to focus me so maybe I’ll try again, starting with a lot on yours. I would love to be able to walk to breakfast – how cool!!!
Enjoy every minute 🙂 But don’t put too much pressure on yourself – it’s also ok to just not get out of your pj’s one day too!

Thank you! You should! I just think it’s about being intentional with your time. I didn’t want to put anything too stressful on my list. I have a list for those things, too!
I will definitely do that, too. I am going to add watching a movie in the morning. I never let myself watch tv during the day!

Yes!!! I feel so “lazy” if I turn on the television before dark but sometimes it is ok, right?!? Intentional is the right word. It is important to be intentional with our time because sometimes we don’t “get” to choose, like when your mom had her stroke or recent health hiccups with my in-laws. Glad you found my comment worth reposting 🙂
I think we would be fast friends if we lived closer together!

It really sucks you in and sets the tone for the whole day. But, yes, sometimes! It was a great comment and I need a day like that. Yes, we totally would! Too bad we don’t!

That is a great list! I don’t have a list, but I’m definitely drinking all kinds of coffee, reading lots of books (I just finished The Whispers, and it was great!), and spending time with my husband and sons. Please tell me about the Chik Fil-A ice! We live within walking distance to an Old Navy, pet store, and Best Buy, as well as a CVS, but no breakfast places, sadly. They’re close, but I’d have to cross a really busy road. I’m loving summer, but I’m starting to stress about how fast it’s going. I can relate to your feelings about kids growing up. We’re moving our younger son from Orlando to Clearwater next month for his first big job, and he’ll be 4 hours away! There is an Amtrak that goes from here to there, so I might try it.

Thank you! You can just go through the drive thru and order a bag of ice. I am definitely doing that soon and I think I will treat myself to a Cobb salad, too! I love trains and the Amtrak would be so awesome for you to travel there!
