Today I thought I would re-visit my posts from here and here and give you an update. You all have been so supportive and I can’t thank you enough.

So, I have now lost 25 pounds! It is very slow going – for two weeks I only lost .2, but then I had a nice 2 pound loss last week.

I bought these Fiber One lemon and chocolate fudge that are 2 points each for a little dessert. I don’t know if I will buy these again. They are very crumbly and there isn’t much to them.

I also got the coffee cake and I feel the same about them. I will use these up in my school lunches I think and then probably not purchase again.

Pretty much all summer I have gotten in at least three servings of veggies at breakfast. Prepping these veggies once or twice a week is such a game changer. I top them with two scrambled eggs usually.

I’ve been eating veggie burgers quite a bit. I made a yummy wrap with some potatoes on the side.

I invested in a food scale per the recommendation of my friend Kim. A few years ago, I didn’t believe I could make a true friend on the internet, but my mind has been changed. The support I have gotten from Kim is a true blessing. Thank you, Kim!

Below you will see me measuring out 1 oz. of feta for my whole grain pasta I made one day for lunch. I did the Tik Tok pasta with the roasted tomatoes. It had potential, but I needed more tomatoes.

I like to add a squirt of this to the fiber one brownie or to my bowl of strawberries.

I love this recipe for Mexican quinoa was given to me by another blogger, Kristen. I changed it to make it easier, though, because I’m lazy. I prepare a cup of quinoa by boiling it with two cups of water and then simmering for 15 minutes. When done, I add as much jarred salsa as I want with a can of green chiles. I add a tiny bit of shredded Mexican cheese when I am ready to eat it. Everything except the cheese is zero points!

I have increased my fruit intake and I am loving the strawberries that are so flavorful right now – with a dollop of Reddi Wip! I just noticed there is no “h” in Reddi Wip. That is weird!

I have a banana almost every day.

I have plans to make some homemade egg breakfast sandwiches with these below. They are 3 points.

I have one of these every day and yes, I do eat it by the “string”. What kind of monster just bites into it? Ha! I have told you this before, but Ernie comes running when he hears my string cheese being opened.

I love a Dum Dum sucker for a little something sweet in the evenings.

I have a half of a Premier protein everyday – either in the late morning or in the afternoon.

I will need to fall back on some fast food as school starts. I really want to try this “Burger in a Tub” from 5 Guys. I would try to make it less than 10 points – maybe by ordering the kid’s size burger. Doesn’t this sound good?

Or, I could make it homemade with ground turkey and a “special sauce” from Greek yogurt again. Yum!

And, I thought this Chick-Fil-A guide would be helpful. I love their grilled nuggets!

What can you recommend?

Amy

  1. 25 lbs?! That’s AMAZING! So proud of you! I eat those English muffins too! I buy that whip cream too and have had to tell Hayden to keep his hands off of it! (He just casually sprays some in his mouth 10 times a day! ) 🤣

  2. Wow! 25 pounds is great!! I need to lose a few pounds but haven’t yet done anything about it. I went to weight watchers a couple of times in the past and it always works for me. I guess I just need somebody to kick me in the butt to get me started!

  3. Hi,
Thanks for Sharing this as it is really helpful and interesting. I highly recommend getting a cheap mandolin slicer for all your veggies. I got one from Walmart for $10 and love how thin I can slice everything including zucchini the long way to make a veggie lasagna in minutes. I especially love it if I need to slice a lot of potatoes for a hot dish or some thing for the family.

    1. I’m so glad you liked it – thought maybe it was boring!
What a super idea! That way I can try my sweet potato lasagna again! It had such potential but my slices were too big!
At first I thought you meant the instrument!

  4. Congrats on the weight loss – that is wonderful! Do you like the Tajin seasoning? I like to add it to my fruit with a squeeze of lemon – think pineapple, oranges, watermelon, cucumber – yum!

What is your profile name on the WW app?

    1. Thank you! Oooh I should try that! I have had Tajin and liked it.
No profile – sometimes I don’t even put in the correct food – just the points it’s worth.
      Lol

  5. Congrats! 25lbs is amazing! So I’m a huge fiber one 2pt cookie/brownie fan. My secret is to microwave them for 20 seconds. If you’re feeling a bit decadent (or I do this for breakfast a lot), I microwave for 20 seconds, top with 1 -2 tsp of peanut butter (2 pts usually), and some FF whipped topping. The protein makes them more filling and they’re like dessert! The birthday cake is my favorite but are harder to find.

  6. OOh! Thanks for the Chik- Fil-A chart as I have made it my goal to eat at one sometime in the next week (we’ve never been and I hear so much about it I know we’ve got to try). I’m really excited to see they have zero point chicken!! Your Mexican quinoa looks delicious too.

    1. It has been almost a part time job to shop, prepare, cook, track my foods. But, getting to this weight was a FULL time job! I crack myself up! Lol!
Organization is a constant struggle when you juggle so much. Don’t be too hard on yourself.

  7. You’re doing great! Let me revisit my WW leader role and tell you that it’s not about how much you lose each week, it’s about the total. Healthy weight loss is between 1 – 2 pounds per week so as long as that’s your average, you are on track. More than that is water weight and less than that means you’re eating too much!
Happy to give unsolicited advice any time – ha!!!

    1. No, I appreciate all
the reminders and I’m using my blog as my “community”. I have lost an average of 1.7 pounds a week. I know there will be harder weeks. I want your advice so it’s not unsolicited! Thank you!

  9. I am so incredibly happy for you and your weight loss to date! It has been such a joy to answer whatever questions I can for you and if I don’t know the answer… Usually my daughter Taylor will! She’s a true hero in all of this and she is the one that got me to really start using my scale for my food as well! So I can’t take all the credit on that one. One day at a time just remember that! Now I need to go and start planning my meals for the next week or so because we just got back from our very decadent Nashville vacation and I have never eaten so much fried foods in my life lol have a great weekend!

  10. 25 pounds!?? That’s amazing!
So… some small recommendations… (you did ask!) – drink tons of water, learn to drink coffee with only a splash of milk (it really satisfies you), chew gum and brush your teeth when you have a sweet craving. Apples also fills really well without a lot of calories!

    1. I did! I do all of those things except need to add an apple a day! I only like them cut up.
I found a creamer and only use one – like a splash. I have a minty gum and a fruity gum. Brushing your teeth more is good.
