We should already be on break but we have today and tomorrow. These two days are always awkward and I always wish we had the whole week off like many schools do.

I am linking up with Heather, Tanya and many more!

Friday I worked and my friend came over for a quick patio happy hour at my house from 3:15-4:15. I left at 4:30 and my husband and I met to help move Jack out.

His dorm. It took a sweet forever. We weren’t allowed to go in and it seemed like he was packing as he went. They didn’t have to take everything home but he had lots of musical equipment that he wanted and needed.

These IKEA bags are amazing!

  1. Glad your nest is full, it is amazing how much they change in just one semester. My boys are bother here too and I am so happy to have them home, even if the house is crazy torn right up now. I have to work Monday and Tuesday too, wish we had the whole week off as well!

    1. Thank you! It really is! I am happy your boys are home, too, and that it works ok with the renovation. That is a bit more challenging. Ours is contained to part of our bedroom right now so it is not too bad. Hopefully these two days will go by quickly for us!

  2. I know that you are glad to have the boys home! It is always an adjustment, but also so much fun to catch up and to observe how they have changed and matured. 🙂 For the first time ever, it will just be the four of us for Thanksgiving. Going to do a traditional meal, but scale it down. We may have a socially distant picnic with my mom and brothers over the weekend if the weather is nice. Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. It is just nice to know they are under my roof even if they are sleeping in! Yes, I look forward to seeing more of that. Same for us. We ordered from FABD and I will add cranberry sauce, mac and cheese, and roasted carrots I think.

  3. So funny the two different move our experiences 😂I know you’re so happy to have them home! I love your patio lights too! I didn’t expect the weather to be so dreary this weekend…I had to kick on the heater in the sunroom. That’s still my go to spot for peace and quiet and my little tree. I hate the two day week too. I just wish they’d give us the whole week! Have a great day 🙂

    1. Yes! It made me laugh. I need to decorate my patio since I still plan to be out there as much as possible. I’m hanging on to Thanksgiving decor just a bit longer. I also feel like it should already be Christmas break for some reason?

  4. SOOOO happy your college boys are home!!! Our two college kiddos come home Wednesday morning! We will be home, just us 5 for Thanksgiving. Different, but we will try to make the best of it! It will be relaxing! My husband got a 25 lb turkey! We’ll have LOTS of leftovers!!!! haha
Happy Thanksgiving! I love hearing about everything you do! You inspire me! 🙂

    1. Thank you! And, I am so happy for you for Wednesday! Get ready for a messy house and so much stuff! 25 lbs is a lot! You will be searching turkey recipes like crazy but I have learned to use my freezer much better! Turkey noodle soup, Turkey pot pie, Hot browns from Kentucky, hot ham and turkey subs – your family will be sick of it!
You are too kind! Happiest of Thanksgivings to you, too. It is sad but maybe it will be nice to be more intimate.

  6. So fun with the packing differences…! One of my girls refuses to be stressed about anything… The rest of us is waiting at the door to go out, and she is lolling around doing the things she needs to do before she can go out…
So, happy thanksgiving to America! We only adopted half of your holiday – Black Friday! 😀 Celebrations will be different this year, right? Youngest daughter’s high school will start distance teaching from Monday until Christmas break… When will this be over!? MIL told us she’s expecting to get her vaccine in January (since she’s elderly), I do hope it’s true!

    1. Totally! That is funny – she must be very Type B personality. Thank you! It is a big holiday for us – the biggest one for food, definitely. That is smart about your daughter’s distance learning. That is what I am hearing, too. First the medical, second the high risk, elderly, and teachers, and then the rest.

      1. Are teachers considered high risk in America!? That’s great! We are so overlooked over here, you can’t believe it! “Elementary schools need to be open, bla bla…” – no one talks about the teachers, it’s ridiculous!
Type B? Is that like calm and a bit nonchalant?… (sounds like my girl! :-D)

  7. We have 2.5 days of school this week and we are finding it rather weird as some teachers are treating it as a catch-up/ wrap- up and others are starting new and big projects. I bet it was great to have your boys home this weekend and I think it really shows their different personalities on how different pick up went.

  8. I am sure you will have a great Thanksgiving with your boys home! I teach in Florida and we also always have school the Monday and Tuesday of the week of Thanksgiving….I have always found it so strange!

    1. Thank you! Hello to a fellow teacher! Yes, it is odd. I had pretty bad attendance even though we are virtual. I think it would be better to take the week off as a fall break maybe? Happy Thanksgiving, Danielle!
