Happy Friday!  I am linking up with Andrea, etc. so go here!

How was your week?  Did you see my posts this week?  I talked about the Revlon hair tool here and my outfits and challenge here.  I gave a potential Superbowl snack recipe here.

Here are my favorites for the week:

Since my mudroom is still not ready with my cabinetry and or my washer and dryer, I have used this as my plant room for now.  They were both gifts from the funeral for my Dad over a year ago.  One is a peace lily from a co-worker and the other I honestly am not sure about and it is from some dear friends.  I am so happy we are doing well so far with these.  I heard the tip ¨Thirsty Thursday” which means to always water on Thursdays.  But, many plants do not need a weekly watering.  I have learned to feel the soil, too.

I added these small plants to my mantel and have another small plant on a side table.  I am well on my way to becoming a plant lady.  They really look great and make me very happy!  I would like a spider plant and a fiddle leaf fig and I want to add them to more rooms of the house.  img_1099

I continue to love my cream eye shadow called Eyes to Mesmerize by Charlotte Tillbury.  I apply it with a brush and I love a cream versus a powder.  I got the shade Bette and I would like another shade.  Anyone else tried this?

I was walking the dog after 6:00 and we still had this much light.  I love when the days get longer again.  This has been a weird winter.  We are back in the 50s for the rest of January in Kentucky.  I would like one good snow and snow day – maybe February will bring this!

It is time for a new dip nail manicure.  I have had my white with sparkles since December 30.  I am thinking a light blue or some shade of blue?  I have liked the white but I am more of a color person, I think.  I also need a pedicure badly.  I hate to sit for both at the same time.  Are you like that?  It is hard for me to sit still for any kind of beauty treatment!  Also, do you keep a pedicure in the winter?  I am much happier keeping my pedicure up and it is one of my best forms of relaxation.

That is about it!  It has been a short week with mainly just work and chores!

How was your week?  Any favorites?  As usual, thank you so much for reading!  I have the best readers and commenters.

  1. Happy Friday! Good job with the plants! I’m trying to keep a couple of pots with ivy alive, but that’s about it. But I do love to have fresh tulips in the living room!
Oh yes, the light! It’s the same here, something is happening with the light and I can feel that my spirits return! It’s still dark in the morning though, it’s really hard to get up…!
Favorites this week are new bootcut jeans (feels fun again!), and a really good book (Sally Rooney that I mentioned, I really like it).

    1. Thank you! I love ivy, too. And I don’t buy fresh cut flowers enough. I know winter isn’t close to being over but the light helps.
Bootcut jeans are big now! I will check out Sally Rooney!

  2. We have two orchids that we got last year for $3 each on clearance. I water them with 3 ice cubes (each) every Wednesday. We had an orchid in CO and it was supposed to be watered every 10 days but I’d always forget. It lasted about 2 years.

I WANT to be the kind of person who does pedicures all year long.

  3. I have a peace lily from my grandmother’s funeral that I have managed to keep alive for a few years now and I am amazed because I tend to do pretty awful with plants. I noticed it getting lighter in the afternoon and early evenings this week too and I am just loving that!

  4. Hey Amy! I’m a plant junkie too. And yes, girl, sitting still for a pedi and mani is too much for me! I get one or the other and in the winter I do my own pedicures and give my smothered nails a break from all the polish. Now the finger nails…I still get them all fixed up. I haven’t do dip and am still a gel girl. One day I will switch sides. I’m ready for 50 degree temps to come back to NC and girl…no snow, please! Have a most wonderful weekend!

    1. Haha! I guess there are worse habits than plants, right? I just sat for both and it was a reminder that 2 hours is too much! Try dip! It’s so much more durable than gel. I would always ruin my gel with tape or taking a tag off but with dip there’s none of that. How about one February snow that hits KY but not NC?
      You too!
