We made it through January! It just feels like it lasts double any other month. Why is that? Today I’m linking up with Sheaffer, Shay, and Andrea for Friday Favorites here.
Are you ready to see a blurry photo of one of the most thoughtful gifts I have ever received? My college and beyond roommate H of almost 8 years – yes, we lived together for almost 8 years – gifted me this necklace with my Dad’s birth date engraved on it. I don’t even know how she thought of it, because it didn’t even cross my mind to have this done. I was so incredibly touched and I love wearing it.
Trader Joe’s was offering samples of this soup and now I’m a big fan. Andrea said her Trader Joe’s threw a half of a Boursin cheese round in their pot of soup so now I want to try that the next time I make it!
I picked up these daffodils for 1.49 at TJ’s, also. I am really into red blends when the weather is cold. I can’t do sweet wines like my sister – sorry M. This bottle is 2.99 and it is good. That is less than a latte, people!
I am lucky enough to have a cousin who is exactly my age. We have never lived in the same town but we’ve always been close and she is off on Wednesdays so I got to talk to her on my snow day. If I could bottle up her laugh I would. She has a big job, but reads the blog when she can. Hi K!
So, on my Wednesday snow day I stopped into Versona and loved this sweater and these earrings. I said I didn’t want to buy any more winter things so I avoided the sale rack because I would have just bought something because it was cheap. I’m trying to be more intentional when I shop for clothing. This sweater sparked joy! These earrings also sparked joy and I wear a lot of red and pink in February. Versona is seriously becoming a favorite store for me when I don’t shop consignment.
And, snow days and blogs are bad for the pocketbook. I ordered this beauty for $18. I’m calling this a spring sweatshirt. It was recommended by a blogger or maybe more than one. But, snow days are definitely another favorite! We had two back to back on Wednesday and Thursday!
And, just to keep you updated: I still love my Rothy’s flats and my Hofi leggings with pockets from Amazon. I did really well in January with my shopping. I bought one pair of leggings, one pair of shoes, three pairs of earrings, one sweatshirt, and one sweater. I was very thoughtful and intentional and I feel good about these purchases.
What were your favorites this week?
Thanks for reading! Happy weekend!
Amy

That necklace is such a thoughtful gift. I just picked up a hyacinth at TJ’s and some regular (not red pepper) tomato soup. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Yes it is! I just love looking at the flowers at TJS. Actually I just love everything there! Have you discovered their nice greeting cards? It just makes shopping for groceries more fun! I will have to try the regular tomato soup too.
Happy weekend!

Ok, here comes Friday favorites: shopping is always fun (crazy sales right now), so; black jumpsuit with long sleeves, striped baby blue pyjamas, nail polish in black and blue… , school is absolutely ok and under control and last but not least – it’s Friday! Tonight we’ll have a nice family meal and “semla” (google it, has to do with fika!) in front of Sweden’s got talent. Again – thanks for your fun and inspirational blog! (What is red blends? Do you heat it?)

Yes crazy sales now! Nice evening plans! I will google it next – I’m learning so much. No you don’t heat the red blend. It’s just a red wine that isn’t a Merlot or a Cabernet or any particular type but a blend of different red grapes. Thank you for your compliments! Happy Sweden’s got talent watching! I may look up some of them on YouTube! Haha!

That sweater is AWESOME! Those earrings are going to go with, perfectly. The sweater reminds me of a knit stitch I’ve always wanted to try. Maybe when I master it, I can knit myself a copycat of yours.
My heart is squishy for you. Such a heartfelt, thoughtful gift ❤

Thank you! I hope it is long enough with the pants I want to wear it with! If I could knit that I would be happy! The earrings were only $8!
Happy weekend!

That was so thoughtful of your friend to give you that necklace!
I spent my week reading books because it’s been too cold to leave the house.

I’m late to this party. But I love the necklace. And I might have to be a copycat and track down that sweater at Versona. Love! That’s one of my favorite stores, but the area it’s in is a real pain in the ass to get in and out of, and I generally have no patience for it. Ulta is next door, though, so I suck it up.

That’s ok! Fashionably late, right? The necklace was so thoughtful. It was from my college roommate.
I’m new to Versona but now I’m a big fan! I took the sweater back because it was a bit too short and boxy. I’m so sad and I’m on the hunt for something similar. Our Versona is a few doors down from Ulta! Haha! I very rarely go in Ulta because it overwhelms me.
